- Place the car seat base on the vehicle seat.
- Locate the load leg release button/lever.
- Extend the load leg downwards until it makes firm contact with the vehicle floor.

Recline Indicator

Steps:
- Locate your vehicle's lower anchor bars (LATCH anchors).
- Attach the LATCH connectors from the car seat base to the vehicle's lower anchor bars. Listen for a click to confirm connection.
- Press down firmly on the car seat base while pulling the LATCH strap to remove all slack. The base should not move more than 1 inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
- Verify the recline indicator is correct and the load leg is properly engaged.
Vehicle Belt Installation (Belt Lock-Off)
If your vehicle does not have LATCH anchors or you prefer to use the vehicle's seat belt, the built-in belt lock-off ensures a secure installation.

Steps:
- Place the car seat base on the vehicle seat.
- Route the vehicle's lap and shoulder belt through the designated belt path on the car seat base.
- Buckle the vehicle seat belt.
- Remove all slack from the vehicle belt by pressing down firmly on the car seat base and pulling the shoulder belt.
- Open the belt lock-off, feed the vehicle belt into it, and close the lock-off securely.
- The base should not move more than 1 inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
- Verify the recline indicator is correct and the load leg is properly engaged.

Operating Instructions
Once the base is securely installed in your vehicle, you can attach and detach the Evenflo LiteMax Infant Car Seat.
