Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your SpyX DIY Motion Alarm:

  1. Insert Batteries: Locate the Battery Module. An adult should open the battery compartment and insert 3 AAA (LR03) batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
  2. Place Modules on Base: Refer to Figure 1 for component identification. Carefully place each module (Battery Module, Volume Knob, Motion Module, Motion Sensor, Speaker, On/Off Switch) onto the designated studs on the Base. The modules are designed to fit snugly.
  3. Connect Wires: Using the provided connecting wires and metal springs (Figure 2), connect the modules according to the circuit diagram in your instruction sheet. Ensure all connections are firm and match the diagram precisely to ensure proper functionality.
  4. Final Assembly Check: Once all modules are in place and wires are connected, double-check all connections. The assembled alarm should resemble the image below.

Operating Instructions

Once assembled, your SpyX DIY Motion Alarm is ready for action:

  1. Power On: Flip the On/Off Switch to the "ON" position. The red LED on the Motion Module will flash for approximately 3 seconds, indicating that the alarm is arming.
  2. Position the Sensor: Adjust the Motion Sensor towards the area you wish to monitor. This could be a doorway, a hallway, or near a valuable item you want to protect. The sensor works best in bright light conditions.
  3. Adjust Volume: Use the Volume Knob to set the desired alarm sound level.
  4. Detection: When motion is detected within the sensor's range, the alarm will sound, alerting you to an intruder.
  5. Power Off: To deactivate the alarm, simply flip the On/Off Switch to the "OFF" position.
