4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Prepare the Installation Area

  • Turn off the hot and cold water supply valves under the sink.
  • Clear the area under the sink for easy access.
  • Remove any existing faucet and clean the sink surface thoroughly.

4.2 Install Faucet Components

The faucet utilizes a Quick Connect system for the spout and spindles, along with a spindle attachment kit for stability.

  1. Insert the faucet body and handles into the pre-drilled holes on the sink deck.
  2. From underneath the sink, secure the faucet body and handles using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure they are centered and stable.
  3. Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding inlets on the faucet. The 3/8" speedway compression hoses are included.
  4. Utilize the Quick Connect system to easily attach the spout and spindle components. Ensure a secure fit.
  5. For additional stability, use the spindle's attachment kit, which includes a nut with two screws, to firmly secure the spindles to the deck.

4.3 Install the Push Drain

  1. Apply a bead of plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the flange of the drain assembly.
  2. Insert the drain assembly into the sink's drain hole from above.
  3. From underneath the sink, secure the drain assembly with the provided washer and nut. Wipe away any excess sealant.
  4. Connect the drain tailpiece to your P-trap assembly.

4.4 Test for Leaks

  1. Slowly turn on the hot and cold water supply valves.
  2. Check all connections for leaks. Tighten any leaking connections carefully.
  3. Operate the faucet to ensure proper water flow and temperature control.

5. Operating Instructions

The Riobel RU08+C faucet features two handles for precise control of water temperature and flow.

  • Cold Water: Turn the right handle counter-clockwise to open for cold water.
  • Hot Water: Turn the left handle counter-clockwise to open for hot water.
  • Mixing Water: Adjust both handles to achieve the desired water temperature and flow rate.
  • Push Drain: Press the top of the drain stopper to close the drain for filling the basin. Press again to open and allow water to drain.
