4. Setup and First Use
4.1 Unpacking and Placement:
- Remove all packaging materials.
- Place the machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and direct sunlight.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine.
4.2 Initial Cleaning:
- Wash the water tank, drip tray, and grounds container with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
4.3 Filling Water Tank and Bean Hopper:
- Fill the water tank with fresh, cold drinking water up to the MAX level. Reinsert it firmly.
- Open the coffee bean hopper lid and fill with whole coffee beans. Close the lid securely.
4.4 First Use / Priming:
- Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet.
- Press the Power button. The machine will perform an automatic rinse cycle.
- Follow the instructions on the LCD screen for initial setup, including water hardness setting.
- The machine is ready for use once the priming cycle is complete.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making Coffee:
- Place a cup under the coffee spout.
- Select your desired coffee type (e.g., Espresso, Coffee) using the dedicated buttons.
- Adjust the coffee volume or intensity using the +/- buttons if desired.
- Press the Start/Stop button to begin brewing. The machine will grind the beans and dispense the coffee.
- To stop brewing prematurely, press the Start/Stop button again.
5.2 Preparing Milk-Based Beverages (Cappuccino, Latte):

- Fill the milk container with cold milk.
- Connect the milk frother tube to the machine's milk frother nozzle.
- Place a cup under the coffee spout and milk frother.
- Select your desired milk-based beverage (e.g., Cappuccino).
- The machine will first dispense the espresso, then steam the milk and add it to your cup.
- After use, clean the milk system immediately to prevent blockages.
5.3 Adjusting Grind Level:
The machine offers 3 grind levels. Adjusting the grind level affects the coffee extraction and taste. Finer grind for stronger espresso, coarser for lighter coffee.
- Access the settings menu via the Settings button.
- Navigate to the grind level adjustment option.
- Adjust the setting as per your preference.
- Note: Only adjust the grind level while the grinder is operating.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your machine.
6.1 Daily Cleaning:
- Drip Tray and Grounds Container: Empty and rinse daily.
- Milk System: After each milk preparation, run the automatic milk system cleaning cycle or rinse the milk frother nozzle thoroughly.

6.2 Descaling:
The machine will prompt you when descaling is required. Use a descaling solution recommended by KRUPS.
- Follow the on-screen instructions for the descaling process.
