5. Setup
5.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the device.
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert one AA dry-cell battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery cover securely.

5.2. Powering On/Off
To power on the device, press and hold the measurement button until the screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the measurement button again until the screen turns off.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Basic Measurement
- Ensure the device is powered on.
- Place the measurement aperture of the gloss meter firmly and flatly on the surface of the sample to be measured.
- Press the measurement button gently. The gloss value will be displayed on the screen.

6.2. Measurement Modes
The YG60 Gloss Meter offers multiple measurement modes to suit various needs:

7. Calibration
The YG60 Gloss Meter features an auto-calibration function. For accurate measurements, regular calibration using the provided calibration plate is essential.
- Ensure the calibration plate is clean and free from dust or scratches.
- Place the gloss meter onto its integrated calibration box.
- Access the calibration menu via the operation buttons.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to initiate and complete the auto-calibration process.

8. Data Management
The device can store up to 35,000 data points across its various modes (Basic & Statistic: 1500; Continuous: 10000; QC: 10000). To transfer data to a PC:
- Connect the gloss meter to your PC using the provided USB cable.
- Install the included QC software on your computer.
- Launch the software and follow its instructions to download and manage your measurement data. The software also offers extended functions for quality reporting.
9. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the measurement aperture and the calibration plate with the provided cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use, store the gloss meter in its protective carrying case in a dry, dust-free environment.
