Michelin MPX19EH High-Pressure Washer User Manual

Model: MPX19EH

1. Product Overview

The Michelin MPX19EH is a cold water high-pressure washer designed for effective cleaning of various outdoor surfaces. With a maximum pressure of 140 bar and a water flow rate of 460 L/h, it is suitable for cleaning vehicles, including large vans and trucks, as well as domestic outdoor areas such as courtyards, terraces, pathways, outdoor furniture, and garden tools.

This model features a compact design with two wheels and an ergonomic telescopic handle for easy maneuverability. An integrated accessory holder and hose reel ensure organized storage after use. The Total Stop System (TSS) automatically shuts off the motor when the trigger is released, reducing wear and power consumption.

2. Safety Information

Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating the high-pressure washer. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the voltage specified on the product label. Do not operate the unit with damaged cords or plugs. Always use a residual current device (RCD) when operating outdoors.
  • Water Safety: Do not direct the water jet at electrical equipment, the unit itself, or other persons/animals. Ensure all water connections are secure to prevent leaks.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate eye protection, hearing protection, and protective clothing when operating the pressure washer.
  • Chemicals: Use only detergents recommended for pressure washers. Follow the detergent manufacturer's instructions for use and safety.
  • Children and Bystanders: Keep children and bystanders away from the operating area.
  • Maintenance: Disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

4. Setup

  1. Assemble the Unit: Attach the telescopic handle if not already assembled. Ensure the wheels are securely in place.
  2. Connect the High-Pressure Hose: Connect one end of the 6-meter high-pressure hose to the outlet on the pressure washer unit using the Click Fast quick connection. Connect the other end to the high-pressure gun.
  3. Connect the Water Supply:
    • From a Tap: Connect a standard garden hose (not supplied) to the water inlet on the pressure washer. The inlet features a controllable filter to prevent impurities from entering the pump. Ensure the garden hose is securely attached to a water tap.
    • From a Tank (Self-Priming Function): If a tap connection is not available, the MPX19EH can draw water from a tank. Submerge the end of a garden hose (not supplied) into the water tank and connect the other end to the pressure washer's water inlet. Ensure the tank is positioned higher than the pressure washer for optimal self-priming.
  4. Connect the Power Supply: Plug the 5-meter power cable into a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a residual current device (RCD) for outdoor use.
  5. Attach Accessories: Select the desired nozzle (adjustable jet or rotary) or the foam cannon kit and attach it to the lance extension, then to the high-pressure gun.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on Water Supply: Open the water tap completely.
  2. Purge Air from System: Before turning on the power, squeeze the trigger on the high-pressure gun to allow water to flow through the system and expel any trapped air. Continue until a steady stream of water emerges.
  3. Power On: Turn the main switch on the pressure washer unit to the "ON" position. The motor will start.
  4. Begin Cleaning: Direct the nozzle towards the surface to be cleaned. Squeeze the trigger on the gun to start the high-pressure jet.
    • Adjustable Jet Nozzle: Rotate the nozzle head to switch between a cylindrical jet for concentrated cleaning and a fan jet for broader coverage and less aggressive cleaning.
    • Rotary Nozzle: Provides a powerful, rotating jet for removing stubborn dirt. Use with caution on delicate surfaces.
    • Foam Cannon Kit: Fill the foam cannon with appropriate detergent. Attach it to the gun. The foam will be applied at low pressure.
  5. Total Stop System (TSS): When you release the trigger on the gun, the motor will automatically shut off. This conserves energy and extends the life of the pump. The motor will restart when the trigger is squeezed again.
  6. Moving the Unit: The integrated wheels and telescopic handle allow for easy movement of the unit during operation.
  7. Finishing Operation:
    • Release the trigger on the gun.
    • Turn the main switch on the pressure washer to the "OFF" position.
    • Turn off the water supply at the tap.
    • Squeeze the trigger on the gun again to release any remaining pressure in the system.
    • Disconnect the power cable and water hose.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pressure washer. Always disconnect the power supply before any maintenance.

  • Cleaning the Water Inlet Filter: Periodically check and clean the filter located at the water inlet to prevent debris from entering the pump.
  • Nozzle Cleaning: If the spray pattern becomes irregular or pressure drops, the nozzle may be clogged. Use the provided nozzle cleaning tool (if applicable) or a thin wire to clear any obstructions.
  • Hose and Cable Management: After use, wind the high-pressure hose onto the integrated hose reel and store the power cable neatly. Utilize the integrated accessory holder to keep all components organized.
  • Storage: Store the pressure washer in a dry, frost-free location. If storing for extended periods, especially in cold climates, ensure all water is drained from the pump and hoses to prevent freezing damage.
