5. Installation
This section provides general installation guidelines. For detailed visual instructions, please refer to the provided diagrams and videos.
5.1 Pre-Installation Checklist
- Ensure the main water supply to your bathroom is completely shut off.
- Gather necessary tools: adjustable wrench, pipe wrench, cleaning brush, measuring tape, and thread seal tape.
- Inspect the existing plumbing for any damage or corrosion.
5.2 Removing the Old Faucet
- Using an adjustable wrench, loosen the nuts connecting the old faucet body to the water supply pipes.
- Carefully remove the old faucet body.
- Unscrew and remove the old mounting legs from the wall pipes.
- Clean any remaining thread seal tape or debris from the wall pipes using a brush.

5.3 Installing the New Faucet
- Apply thread seal tape clockwise around the threads of the new mounting legs. Wrap 6-7 times, pulling lightly.
- Screw the new mounting legs into the wall pipes. Ensure they are tightened securely and are level. Use a level or ruler to verify alignment.
- Insert the packing (gasket) between the mounting legs and the faucet body.
- Attach the faucet body to the mounting legs. Hand-tighten the nuts first.
- Adjust the faucet body to be perfectly horizontal. Once aligned, use a wrench to firmly tighten the nuts. Caution: Do not overtighten or force rotation once tightened, as this can damage the seal tape and cause leaks. If you over-rotate, unmount and re-apply thread seal tape.
- Attach the pipe (spout) to the faucet body. Ensure the packing is correctly seated and tighten securely.
- Attach the shower hose and shower head.
- Slowly turn on the main water supply. Check for any leaks around all connections. If leaks occur, tighten connections or re-apply thread seal tape as needed.

6. Operating Instructions
The TOTO TBV03404Z features a wide lever handle for easy operation and a Comfort Wave Shower with multiple modes.
- Water Flow Control: Use the main lever handle to turn the water on/off and adjust the flow rate.
- Temperature Control: The faucet includes a thermostat for automatic temperature control. Rotate the temperature knob to set your desired water temperature.
- Shower Mode Selection: The Comfort Wave Shower head offers 3 modes. Typically, a button or lever on the shower head allows you to switch between these modes (e.g., standard, massage, mist).
- Shower/Spout Switching: Use the diverter knob or lever on the faucet body to switch water flow between the main spout and the shower head.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the faucet and shower head regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals which can damage the chrome finish.
- Shower Head Nozzle Cleaning: If water flow from the shower head becomes uneven, gently rub the rubber nozzles to dislodge any mineral deposits. For stubborn clogs, the shower head may need to be soaked in a descaling solution.
- Filter Cleaning: Periodically check and clean the filters located at the water inlet connections to prevent debris from affecting water flow.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
