Operating Instructions
Basic Measurement Types
The Preciva B301S caliper can perform four types of measurements:
- External Measurement: Use the outside jaws to measure the external dimensions of an object.
- Internal Measurement: Use the internal jaws to measure the internal dimensions of an object.
- Depth Measurement: Use the depth measuring rod to measure the depth of a hole or step.
- Step Measurement: Use the step measuring surfaces to measure the height of a step or offset.

Zero Function
The ZERO button allows you to reset the display to zero at any point. This is useful for taking relative measurements or for setting a reference point.
Fine Adjustment and Locking
Use the fine adjustment wheel for precise positioning of the slider. Once the desired measurement is achieved, tighten the locking screw to secure the slider and prevent accidental movement.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your Preciva B301S Digital Vernier Caliper:
- Keep the caliper clean and dry. Wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth after each use.
- Avoid exposing the caliper to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or high humidity.
- Do not disassemble the caliper or attempt to modify its components.
- Store the caliper in its protective case when not in use to prevent damage.
- Replace the battery promptly when the display becomes dim or erratic.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your digital caliper, consider the following:
- Blank or Flickering Display: Check the battery. Replace the CR2032 battery if it is low or depleted. Ensure the battery is inserted correctly.
- Inaccurate Readings: Clean the measuring surfaces and the digital scale with a dry, soft cloth. Ensure the jaws are fully closed and press the ZERO button to recalibrate. Avoid applying excessive force during measurement.
- Slider Movement Issues: Clean the guide rail of the caliper to remove any dust or debris that might impede smooth movement.
- Auto-Off Feature: The caliper is designed to automatically turn off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life. This is normal operation.
