4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials, including the foam base and adhesive tape holding accessories in place. Dispose of packaging materials responsibly. Clean the interior and exterior of the refrigerator with a soft cloth and lukewarm water before use.
4.2 Placement
Place the refrigerator on a flat, solid surface strong enough to support the unit when fully loaded. Allow at least 5 inches (12.7 cm) of space between the back and sides of the refrigerator and any adjacent walls or furniture to ensure proper air circulation. Avoid placing the unit in direct sunlight or near heat sources like stoves or heaters.

4.4 Reversible Door
The door of your refrigerator can be reversed to open from either the left or right side. Refer to the detailed instructions in the separate installation guide for reversing the door swing, if desired.
4.5 Leveling
Adjust the leveling legs at the bottom of the refrigerator to ensure the unit is stable and level. A level refrigerator operates more efficiently and prevents the door from swinging open or closed unexpectedly.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Initial Startup
After placing the refrigerator, wait at least 2-4 hours before plugging it into a power outlet. This allows the refrigerant to settle. Once plugged in, let the unit run for approximately 2-3 hours before placing food inside.
5.2 Temperature Control
The refrigerator is equipped with an adjustable thermostat. The temperature control dial is typically located inside the refrigerator compartment. Turn the dial to adjust the cooling intensity. Higher numbers usually indicate colder temperatures. Start with a medium setting and adjust as needed based on ambient temperature and food load.
- "Cool" to "Colder": The dial allows for a range of cooling, from moderately cool to very cold.
- Optimal Setting: For general use, a mid-range setting is often sufficient. Adjust to a colder setting if the ambient temperature is high or if you need to chill items quickly.
5.3 Food Storage
Organize food items to allow for proper air circulation. Do not overload the refrigerator. Use the interior shelf for fresh foods and the door compartments for beverages and smaller items. The small ice freezer compartment is suitable for making a small amount of ice or storing a few frozen items.
6. Care and Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Always unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. Clean the interior and exterior surfaces regularly with a mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. For the dry erase board, use only dry erase markers and a soft cloth or eraser designed for dry erase surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
6.2 Defrosting
This refrigerator features manual defrost. Frost will accumulate on the inner walls of the freezer compartment. When the frost layer becomes about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick, it should be defrosted. To defrost:
- Unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet.
- Remove all food items from the freezer and refrigerator compartments. Place them in a cooler or another refrigerated space.
- Leave the door open to allow the frost to melt naturally. You can place towels at the bottom to absorb water. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to speed up defrosting, as this can damage the unit.
- Once all frost has melted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
- Plug the refrigerator back in and allow it to cool down before returning food items.
6.3 Power Outage
In case of a power outage, keep the refrigerator door closed to maintain the internal temperature for as long as possible. Avoid opening the door unnecessarily. If the outage is prolonged, consider transferring perishable items to a cooler with ice.
7. Troubleshooting Guide
Before contacting customer service, please refer to the following table for common issues and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause & Solution |
|---|---|
| Refrigerator does not operate. | Not plugged in; circuit breaker tripped; temperature control set to "OFF". Solution: Ensure plug is secure; reset circuit breaker; adjust temperature control. |
| Temperature is too warm. | Door opened too frequently; warm food placed inside; poor air circulation; thermostat setting too high. Solution: Minimize door openings; allow hot food to cool before storing; ensure proper spacing; adjust thermostat to a colder setting. |
| Temperature is too cold. | Thermostat setting too low. Solution: Adjust thermostat to a warmer setting. |
| Excessive frost buildup. | Door not sealed properly; high humidity; frequent door openings. Solution: Check door gasket for leaks; avoid opening door unnecessarily; perform manual defrost. |
| Unusual noises. | Refrigerator not level; objects vibrating against the unit; normal operating sounds. Solution: Level the refrigerator; ensure nothing is touching the unit; gurgling/hissing sounds are normal refrigerant flow. |
