2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your INSWAN INS-1 Document Camera, please verify that all the following components are included:

3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your INSWAN INS-1 Document Camera:

  1. Position the Camera: Place the camera on a stable, flat surface. The weighted base ensures stability. Adjust the multi-joint arm to position the camera head over the desired capture area.
  2. Connect to Computer: Plug the integrated USB-A cable into an available USB port on your PC (Windows 7/8/10/11), Mac (OS10.12 or higher), or Chromebook (38.00 or higher). If your computer only has USB-C ports, a USB-A to USB-C adapter (not included) will be required.
  3. Install Software: Download and install the latest version of the INSWAN Documate software from the official INSWAN website. This software is essential for accessing all camera features, including digital zoom, image annotation, and recording.
  4. Launch Documate: Open the INSWAN Documate application. The camera feed should appear automatically.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: The camera powers on automatically when connected to a powered USB port. Disconnect to power off.
  • Live View: Once connected and Documate software is running, the camera will display a live feed of the area beneath its lens.
  • Adjusting the Arm: The multi-joint design allows for flexible positioning. Adjust the arm to capture documents or objects up to 15.74 x 11.81 inches.

4.2. Imaging and Focus

The INS-1 features an 8MP SONY CMOS sensor, providing ultra-high definition images up to 3264 x 2448 pixels and lag-free video streaming at 30 frames per second across all resolutions.

  • Auto-Focus: The camera features an auto-focus lens that quickly shifts focus between objects. Press the 'AF' button on the camera head for quick auto-focus.
  • Macro Feature: Capture objects as close as 10 cm with crisp detail.
  • LED Light: Use the built-in LED light for enhanced illumination in challenging lighting conditions. The light has automated exposure control.
  • Anti-Glare Sheet: Place the included anti-glare sheet over shiny objects or documents to eliminate reflections and improve image clarity.

4.3. INSWAN Documate Software Features

The bundled INSWAN Documate software provides a comprehensive suite of tools:
