Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials from the kettle and its base.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, fill the kettle with clean water to the MAX fill line. Boil the water, then discard it. Repeat this process 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing residues.
  3. Placement: Place the power base on a dry, flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure the power cord is not dangling where it can be pulled or tripped over.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a suitable 100V electrical outlet. Note: This kettle is designed for 100V. If using in a region with a different voltage (e.g., 120V), a step-down transformer is required.
  5. Cord Management: The power base features a cord wrap for convenient storage of excess cable.

Operating Instructions

  1. Filling the Kettle: Remove the kettle from its base. Open the lid and fill the kettle with fresh, cold water. Do not fill below the MIN line or above the MAX line (0.8 Liters capacity). Ensure the lid is securely closed before placing the kettle back on the base.
  2. Power On: Place the kettle firmly on the power base. Press the ON/OFF START button. The display will illuminate and show the current water temperature.
  3. Setting Desired Temperature:
    • Press the SET button. The target temperature will flash on the display.
    • Use the UP () and DOWN () arrow buttons to adjust the desired temperature (e.g., 96°C for coffee, 100°C for boiling). The temperature range is typically 50°C to 96°C, with a boil setting at 100°C.
    • Press SET again to confirm the temperature, or wait a few seconds for it to set automatically.
  4. Starting the Heating Process: After setting the temperature, press the ON/OFF START button again to begin heating. The display will show the current water temperature as it rises.
  5. Temperature Hold Function: The kettle will automatically maintain the set temperature for up to 15 minutes after reaching it. If the kettle is lifted from the base, the hold function may reset.
  6. Pouring: Once the desired temperature is reached, carefully lift the kettle from the base using the handle. The gooseneck spout allows for precise pouring control, ideal for pour-over coffee.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your kettle.

  • Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the power base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can scratch the stainless steel finish.
  • Interior Cleaning (Hand Wash): The interior of the kettle should be hand washed. Use a soft sponge and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas.
    • Fill the kettle with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water (or use a commercial descaling solution according to its instructions).
    • Bring the solution to a boil and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup.
    • Pour out the solution and rinse the interior thoroughly several times with fresh water.
    • If a vinegar smell persists, boil fresh water in the kettle a few times and discard.
  • Do NOT immerse the power base, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing or reusing the kettle.
