Assembly and Setup
- Attach Handle: Slide the handle into the opening on the top of the vacuum base until it clicks securely into place.
- Connect Hose: Insert the end of the hose into the hose inlet on the side of the vacuum. Ensure it is firmly seated to prevent loss of suction.
- Store Tools: Place the crevice tool and dusting brush onto the designated storage posts on the vacuum.

Operating Instructions
Powering On/Off
To turn the vacuum cleaner on or off, press the power button located on the main unit.
Adjusting Cleaning Height
The vacuum features five height adjustment settings to optimize cleaning for different floor types. Rotate the dial on the front of the vacuum base to select the appropriate height:
- Low Settings (I, II): For low-pile carpets and bare floors.
- Medium Settings (III, IV): For medium-pile carpets.
- High Setting (V): For high-pile carpets and shag rugs.

Using Attachments
The hose and included tools allow for versatile cleaning of above-floor surfaces, upholstery, and tight spaces.
- Hose Use: Detach the hose from the vacuum base. Select the desired attachment and firmly push it onto the end of the hose.
- Crevice Tool: Ideal for cleaning in narrow spaces, corners, and along edges.
- Dusting Brush: Suitable for delicate surfaces, blinds, and upholstery.
- Extension Wand: Use with other tools to extend reach for high areas or under furniture.
Maintenance
Emptying the Dirt Tank
For optimal performance, empty the dirt tank when debris reaches the 'Full' line. The dirt tank has a capacity of 1 liter.
- Ensure the vacuum is turned off and unplugged.
- Press the tank release button and pull the dirt tank away from the vacuum.
- Hold the tank over a trash bin and press the bottom release button to empty contents.
- Close the bottom flap and reattach the dirt tank to the vacuum until it clicks into place.
Cleaning Filters
The BISSELL Powerforce Helix uses a washable cartridge filter. Regular cleaning helps maintain suction power.
- Ensure the vacuum is turned off and unplugged.
- Remove the dirt tank.
- Locate and remove the filter assembly from the top of the dirt tank.
- Separate the filter components and rinse them under warm water. Do not use detergent.
- Allow filters to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reassembling and placing back into the vacuum.
Brush Roll Maintenance
Periodically check the brush roll for tangled hair or debris.
- Ensure the vacuum is turned off and unplugged.
- Lay the vacuum flat and inspect the brush roll area.
- Carefully cut away any hair or strings wrapped around the brush roll using scissors.
- Remove any debris from the brush roll ends.
