4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Taking a Reading

To obtain an accurate reading:

  1. Ensure your hands and fingers are warm. Rubbing your hands together can help improve blood flow.
  2. Clip the oximeter onto your finger (preferably the index or middle finger) with the LED display facing you.
  3. Press the power button once to turn on the device.
  4. Keep your hand still. Movement can cause the device to reset its reading.
  5. Wait approximately 10-30 seconds for the readings to stabilize on the LED display.

4.2 Display Interpretation

The LED display shows two main values:

  • SpO2 (%): Blood Oxygen Saturation Level. The Zacurate Pro Series 500DL can display SpO2 up to 100%.
  • PR (BPM): Pulse Rate (beats per minute).

5. Important Notes for Accurate Readings

  • Low Blood Perfusion: If blood flow in your finger drops below a certain level (e.g., due to cold hands), the oximeter may not function accurately. Ensure hands are warm before taking a reading.
  • Movement: Any movement during a reading can cause the device to reset or provide inaccurate results. Remain still.
  • Nail Polish/Fake Fingernails: Nail polish and artificial fingernails may cause false readings. If possible, use an unpolished nail or consider another application site.
  • Device Use: This device is for Sports & Aviation use only and is not a medical device. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning
