4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your SMSL AD13 amplifier:

  1. Connect Speakers: Connect your passive speakers to the speaker terminals on the rear of the AD13. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) for both left (L) and right (R) channels.
  2. Connect Audio Sources:
    • USB Input: Connect a Micro USB cable from your computer or other USB audio source to the USB input port on the AD13.
    • Analog Input: Connect your analog audio source (e.g., CD player, smartphone) to one of the 3.5mm AUX input jacks using an appropriate audio cable.
    • Bluetooth Antenna: Screw the provided Bluetooth antenna firmly into its connector on the rear panel.
  3. Connect Power: Connect the 19V / 6.3A power adapter to the DC 19V input jack on the rear of the amplifier, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
  4. Power On: The amplifier will power on automatically or can be turned on using the power button on the front panel or remote control.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the power button on the front panel or the remote control to turn the amplifier on or off. The display will illuminate when powered on.

5.2 Input Selection

Use the input selection button on the front panel or the remote control to cycle through available inputs: USB, AUX1 (3.5mm), AUX2 (3.5mm), and Bluetooth (BT). The selected input will be indicated on the display.

5.3 Volume Control

Rotate the large knob on the front panel clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Alternatively, use the volume up/down buttons on the remote control.

5.4 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Select the Bluetooth input on the AD13. The display will show 'BT' and may flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  2. On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select 'SMSL AD13' from the list of devices. Once connected, the display will stop flashing.
  4. You can now play audio from your device through the AD13 amplifier.

5.5 EQ Adjustment

The AD13 features built-in EQ settings. Use the EQ button on the remote control to cycle through different equalization presets to tailor the sound to your preference. The current EQ mode will be shown on the display.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SMSL AD13 amplifier, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the amplifier. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the finish.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the amplifier is placed in a well-ventilated area. Do not block the ventilation holes. Avoid placing it in enclosed spaces or on soft surfaces that could obstruct airflow.
  • Power Disconnection: Disconnect the power adapter from the wall outlet if the amplifier will not be used for an extended period.
