Product Overview

The Hyper Tough AQ75023G 18-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Drill is designed for versatility and control in various drilling and driving tasks. Setup

This product is sold as a tool only. A compatible 18-Volt Ni-Cad battery and charger are required for operation and are sold separately.

Battery Installation and Removal

1. To install the battery, align the battery pack with the base of the drill handle and slide it firmly into place until it clicks, indicating it is securely latched.
2. To remove the battery, locate the battery release latches on the sides of the battery pack. Press both latches simultaneously and slide the battery pack out of the drill handle.

Charging the Battery

Refer to the instructions provided with your 18-Volt Ni-Cad battery charger for specific charging procedures. Typically, a flashing red light on the charger indicates charging, and a solid green light indicates a full charge.

Installing and Removing Drill Bits

1. To install a drill bit, rotate the front collar of the 3/8" keyless chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
2. Insert the drill bit into the chuck, ensuring it is centered.
3. Rotate the front collar clockwise to tighten the chuck jaws firmly around the drill bit. Ensure the bit is secure before operation.
4. To remove a drill bit, rotate the front collar counter-clockwise to loosen the jaws and pull the bit out.

Operating Instructions

Torque Settings

The drill features 20+1 torque settings. The numbered settings (1-20) are for driving screws, with higher numbers providing more torque for larger screws or harder materials. The drill icon setting is for drilling applications, providing maximum torque without clutch slippage.

• Rotate the torque adjustment ring located behind the chuck to select the desired setting.
• Start with a lower torque setting and increase as needed to prevent over-driving screws or damaging the workpiece.

Forward/Reverse Rotation

A selector switch, typically located above the trigger, controls the direction of rotation. Push the switch to the left for forward (clockwise) rotation for drilling and driving, and to the right for reverse (counter-clockwise) rotation for removing screws or backing out drill bits.

Trigger and LED Work Light

The drill is activated by pressing the trigger. The built-in LED work light illuminates the work area when the trigger is pressed, improving visibility in dimly lit conditions.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Regularly clean the drill's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Keep ventilation openings clear of dust and debris.
• Storage: Store the drill in a dry, secure location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the battery is removed if storing for extended periods.
• Battery Care: For optimal battery life, follow the charging and storage recommendations provided with your specific 18-Volt Ni-Cad battery pack. Avoid fully discharging the battery before recharging.
