1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Ooni Koda 12 Gas Pizza Oven. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new pizza oven. Please read all instructions carefully before use.

2. Safety Information

Your safety is paramount. This appliance is for outdoor use only. Always operate in a well-ventilated area. Keep children and pets away from the oven during operation.

This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm (Proposition 65 warning).

3. Setup

3.1 Unboxing and Assembly

The Ooni Koda 12 is designed for quick setup. Carefully remove all packaging materials.

  1. Unfold the oven's legs until they lock into place.
  2. Insert the pizza stone baking board into the oven. Ensure it is seated correctly.
  3. Connect the gas hose and regulator to the oven's gas inlet.
  4. Connect the other end of the regulator to your propane gas tank.

3.2 Leak Testing

Before first use and after any gas tank change, perform a leak test:

  1. Mix a solution of equal parts water and liquid dish soap.
  2. Ensure the oven's control knob is in the 'OFF' position.
  3. Turn on the gas supply at the tank.
  4. Apply the soap solution to all gas connections.
  5. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Turn off the gas, tighten the connection, and retest. If the leak persists, do not use the oven and contact customer support.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Lighting the Oven

  1. Ensure the gas tank is connected and the supply is open.
  2. Push in and slowly turn the control knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the burner ignites.
  3. Hold the knob in for 5 seconds after ignition to ensure the flame is established.
  4. If the burner does not light, turn the knob to 'OFF', wait 5 minutes, and repeat the process.

4.2 Preheating

Allow the Ooni Koda 12 to preheat for 15-20 minutes. The oven can reach temperatures up to 950°F (500°C), which is crucial for cooking authentic stone-baked pizzas.

4.3 Cooking Pizza

Once preheated, the Ooni Koda 12 can cook a 12-inch pizza in as little as 60 seconds.

  1. Lightly flour your pizza peel.
  2. Launch your prepared pizza into the oven.
  3. Rotate the pizza every 20-30 seconds using a turning peel to ensure even cooking.
  4. Remove the pizza once the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

4.4 Shutting Down

To turn off the oven, simply turn the control knob clockwise until it clicks into the 'OFF' position. Close the gas supply at the tank.

5.1 Cleaning

Always ensure the oven is completely cool before cleaning.

5.2 Storage

When not in use, store the Ooni Koda 12 in a dry, protected area. Disconnect the gas hose and regulator from the tank and oven. Consider using a protective cover to shield it from the elements.
