3. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety during installation and operation. Failure to follow safety guidelines may result in injury or damage to the vehicle.

  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves.
  • Ensure the ATV is on a flat, stable surface and properly secured with wheel chocks before lifting.
  • Use appropriate lifting equipment, such as a hydraulic jack and jack stands, to safely support the vehicle. Never work under an ATV supported only by a jack.
  • Disconnect the battery before starting any electrical work, though this kit does not involve electrical components.
  • Do not modify any components of the lift kit.
  • After installation, perform a thorough inspection of all fasteners and connections.
  • Test drive the ATV at low speeds in a safe area to ensure proper handling and braking before regular use.

4. Installation Instructions

This lift kit is designed for a bolt-on installation, typically taking 1-2 hours. No cutting or welding is required. While specific step-by-step instructions are not provided with the physical product, the general procedure for installing a bolt-on ATV lift kit involves the following:

  1. Prepare the ATV: Park the ATV on a level surface. Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels.
  2. Lift the ATV: Safely lift the front of the ATV using a jack and secure it with jack stands. Repeat for the rear axle. Ensure the suspension is fully extended.
  3. Locate Mounting Points: Identify the existing shock mounting points on your ATV's suspension. The lift brackets will typically extend these points.
  4. Install Front Brackets: Attach the front lift brackets to the existing shock mounts using the provided hardware. Ensure all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications (refer to your ATV's service manual for torque values if available).
  5. Install Rear Brackets: Attach the rear lift brackets to the existing shock mounts using the provided hardware. Again, ensure all bolts are securely tightened.
  6. Lower the ATV: Carefully lower the ATV off the jack stands.
  7. Final Inspection: Double-check all installed hardware for tightness. Ensure there is no interference with other suspension components, brake lines, or wiring.
  8. Alignment Check: After installing a lift kit, it is highly recommended to have your ATV's alignment checked and adjusted by a qualified technician to prevent premature tire wear and ensure proper handling.

5. Operating Guidelines

After installing the lift kit, be aware of changes in your ATV's handling characteristics.

  • The center of gravity will be higher, which may affect stability, especially during sharp turns or on uneven terrain.
  • Exercise caution and adjust your riding style to account for the increased height and potentially larger tires.
  • Always adhere to your ATV manufacturer's operating guidelines and safety recommendations.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your lift kit.

  • Periodically inspect all bolts and nuts for tightness. Re-torque as necessary, especially after initial use.
  • Check the lift brackets for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Replace any compromised components immediately.
  • Keep the components clean from dirt, mud, and corrosive materials.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues after installation, consider the following:

  • Unusual Noises: Check all fasteners for proper torque. Ensure no components are rubbing against each other.
  • Uneven Lift: Verify that the correct brackets are installed in the correct positions (front vs. rear) and that all components are seated properly.
  • Poor Handling: This could be due to incorrect installation, loose components, or an unaligned suspension. Re-check installation and consider professional alignment.
