1. Introduction

The OLIGHT S2R II is an upgraded version of the popular S2R predecessor, designed for everyday carry (EDC). It features a compact build, high lumen output, and convenient magnetic charging. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your S2R II flashlight.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

Before first use, unscrew the body of the flashlight and remove the insulating film from the battery. Ensure the negative polarity side of the battery is inserted facing the direction of the flashlight head (the side of the LED). Screw the body back on securely.

3.2 Charging

The S2R II features a magnetic charging system. Connect the MCC 1A USB charging cable to a USB power source (e.g., computer, car charger, power bank, or USB wall adapter). Attach the magnetic end of the cable to the tailcap of the flashlight. The battery indicator on the side switch will show charging status.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Multi-Function Side Switch

The S2R II is operated via its side switch. It offers several modes:

Moonlight Mode: For ultra-low illumination (0.5 lumens), ideal for maintaining night vision.
Standard Modes: Three levels of brightness (15 lumens, 120 lumens, 400 lumens) for various everyday tasks.
Turbo Mode: Provides the maximum output of 1150 lumens for intense illumination.
Strobe Mode: A high-frequency flashing mode for signaling or disorienting.

4.2 Battery Indicator

The side switch features a built-in battery indicator that changes color to show the remaining power level:

Green: Power ≥ 70%
Yellow: Power 15% - 70%
Red: Power ≤ 15%

4.3 Dual-Direction Pocket Clip

The S2R II is equipped with a dual-direction stainless steel pocket clip, allowing for versatile carrying options. It can be clipped onto a backpack strap, belt, cap brim, or pocket for enhanced everyday carry.

4.4 Hands-Free Convenience

The magnetic tailcap allows the flashlight to be attached to any iron surface, providing convenient hands-free illumination. This feature is particularly useful for tasks requiring both hands, such as vehicle maintenance or camping setup.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your OLIGHT S2R II flashlight, follow these maintenance guidelines:

Cleaning: Regularly clean the lens and body of the flashlight with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Battery Care: Charge the battery regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain its health. Store the flashlight with a partially charged battery if storing for extended periods.
O-rings: Periodically check the O-rings for wear and tear. Lubricate them with silicone grease to maintain waterproof integrity. Replace if damaged.
Threads: Keep the threads clean and lubricated to ensure smooth operation when unscrewing the body.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your OLIGHT S2R II flashlight, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

Flashlight Not Turning On:
- Ensure the battery insulating film has been removed.
- Check if the battery is fully charged.
- Verify the battery is inserted with correct polarity.
- Tighten the tailcap and head of the flashlight securely.
Light Output is Low or Flickering:
- Charge the battery fully.
- Clean the battery contacts and the tailcap threads.
Magnetic Charging Not Working:
- Ensure the magnetic charging cable is properly connected to a working USB power source.
- Clean the magnetic contact points on both the cable and the flashlight tailcap.
