1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Stanley SW22-B5 Pressure Washer. Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance and retain them for future reference.
2. Safety Information
Always observe basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury. This pressure washer is designed for outdoor use only. Do not operate the unit if any parts are damaged. Ensure all connections are secure before starting the machine.
- Electrical Safety: Connect to a properly grounded outlet. Do not use with damaged cords or plugs.
- Water Supply: Ensure the water supply is clean and free of debris. Use the inspectable water filter.
- Personal Protection: Wear appropriate eye protection and protective clothing. Do not direct the spray at people, animals, or electrical equipment.
- Operating Environment: Keep the operating area clear of obstructions. Do not operate in explosive atmospheres.

4. Assembly and Setup
- Attach Handle and Wheels: Secure the handle and wheels to the main unit as per the diagrams in the quick start guide (not included in this document). The unit is designed for easy transport.
- Connect High-Pressure Hose: Connect one end of the 8-meter steel armed high-pressure hose to the pressure washer outlet and the other end to the trigger gun. Ensure connections are hand-tight and secure.
- Connect Water Supply: Attach a garden hose (not supplied) to the quick water intake fitting on the pressure washer. Ensure the inspectable water filter is properly installed in the inlet. Connect the other end of the garden hose to your water tap.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a suitable 240V grounded electrical outlet.
- Prime the Pump: Before turning on the power, turn on the water supply fully. Squeeze the trigger gun to allow water to flow through the system and expel any air. Continue until a steady stream of water emerges from the nozzle. This primes the pump and prevents damage.
5. Operating Instructions
- Starting the Pressure Washer: After priming the pump, turn the rotative switch ON/OFF to the 'ON' position. The induction motor will start.
- Using the Trigger Gun: Hold the trigger gun firmly. Release the safety catch and squeeze the trigger to begin spraying. The unit features pressure reduction to the pump when the trigger gun is released, extending pump life.
- Selecting Nozzles:
- Adjustable Nozzle Lance: Provides variable spray patterns from a concentrated jet to a wide fan. Rotate the nozzle head to adjust.
- Rotary Nozzle Lance: Delivers a powerful, oscillating jet for stubborn dirt and grime.
- Working Pressure: The maximum working pressure is 145 Bar (2103 PSI). Adjust your distance from the cleaning surface to control the effective pressure.
- Maximum Water Temperature: Do not use water exceeding 50°C.
- Auto Power Off: The unit is equipped with an auto power-off feature that activates when the trigger is released for an extended period, saving energy and reducing wear.
- Stopping Operation: Release the trigger gun, engage the safety catch, and turn the rotative switch to the 'OFF' position. Turn off the water supply and disconnect the power cord.
- Depressurizing: After turning off the unit and water supply, squeeze the trigger gun to release any remaining pressure in the system before disconnecting hoses.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pressure washer.
- Nozzle Cleaning: Use the provided nozzle cleaning tool to clear any blockages from the nozzle orifices. Blocked nozzles can cause pressure fluctuations or damage to the pump.
- Water Filter Inspection: Regularly inspect and clean the inspectable water filter at the water inlet. A clogged filter can restrict water flow and damage the pump.
- Hose and Connections: Check the high-pressure hose and all connections for wear, leaks, or damage before each use. Replace damaged parts immediately.
- Storage: Before storing, ensure all water is drained from the pump and hoses, especially in freezing temperatures. Store the unit in a dry, protected area.
7. Troubleshooting
Refer to the following table for common issues and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not start | No power supply; ON/OFF switch off | Check power connection; Turn ON/OFF switch to 'ON' |
| Low pressure | Insufficient water supply; Clogged water filter; Air in pump; Worn nozzle | Ensure full water flow; Clean water filter; Prime pump; Clean/replace nozzle |
| Water leaks | Loose connections; Damaged O-rings or seals | Tighten connections; Inspect and replace O-rings/seals |
| Motor stops during operation | Overheating; Auto power-off activated | Allow unit to cool; Restart after a few minutes; Ensure proper ventilation |
