2. Setup and Initial Use

Follow these steps for the first-time setup of your evaCHILL unit:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the evaCHILL unit and all accessories from the packaging. Ensure all protective films and packaging materials are removed, especially from the filter cartridge.
  2. Access Water Tank: To access the water tank, slide the top handle piece upwards. This will reveal the water tank compartment.
  3. Fill Water Tank: Using the provided funnel, fill the 800ml (27 fl oz) water tank with cold, filtered water. Do not overfill. The unit is designed to hold enough water for 6-7 hours of operation. Avoid adding ice cubes directly into the tank.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the micro USB power cable into the unit's port. Ensure the port is protected with the silicone plug while filling to prevent water ingress. Connect the other end to a compatible USB power source (e.g., power bank, laptop, car outlet) with a minimum capacity of 2A 5V.
  5. Power On: Press the single button on top of the unit to power it on. The unit will start operating at its lowest fan speed.
  6. Initial Saturation: Allow the filter cartridge to fully soak for at least 20 minutes before expecting optimal cooling performance. During this time, the water will saturate the basalt fiber material, which is crucial for the evaporative cooling process.
Four steps for simple use: Fill the water tank, Plug it, Press the button, Place nearby to feel the coolness.

3. Operating Instructions

Your evaCHILL unit is designed for ease of use with its intuitive one-button control.

Fan Speed Control:

  • Press the button once to cycle through the 4 available fan speeds. Each press will increase the fan speed.
  • The unit operates quietly, with a noise level of approximately 25 dB, ensuring minimal disturbance.

LED Light Control:

  • The unit features an integrated LED light.
  • To turn the LED light off or on, press and hold the control button for a few seconds while the unit is running.

Optimal Placement:

  • Place the evaCHILL unit within 3-5 feet of your personal space to feel the direct cooling effect.
  • The evaporative cooling technology is most effective in dry climates (relative humidity below 70%). In highly humid environments, the cooling effect will be less pronounced.
  • The unit can be used independently or in conjunction with a traditional air conditioning system to enhance comfort and reduce overall energy consumption.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your evaCHILL unit.

Cartridge Replacement:

  • The evaBREEZE cartridge is a replaceable component. Its natural basalt fiber material may vary in color from white to dark green, and a small amount of basalt dust inside is normal and safe.
  • Refer to the detailed instructions in the included Product Guide for specific steps on how to replace the cartridge.

Cleaning:

  • Periodically clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Ensure the unit is disconnected from the power source before cleaning.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your evaCHILL unit, refer to the common problems and solutions below:

Unit Not Cooling Effectively:

  • Initial Saturation: Ensure the filter cartridge has had sufficient time (at least 20 minutes) to fully soak with water. The cooling effect will increase as the cartridge becomes saturated.
  • Humidity Levels: The evaporative cooling technology performs best in dry climates (relative humidity below 70%). In highly humid environments, the cooling effect will be less noticeable.
  • Water Level: Check if the water tank is adequately filled. Refill with cold, filtered water if necessary.
  • Placement: Ensure the unit is placed within 3-5 feet of your personal space for direct airflow.

Water Leakage:

  • Overfilling: Do not overfill the water tank. Ensure the water level does not exceed the maximum fill line.
  • Power Port Protection: Always ensure the silicone plug is securely in place over the power port on the back of the unit when filling the water tank to prevent water from entering the electronics.
  • Unit Position: Ensure the unit is placed on a flat, stable surface to prevent tipping and spillage.

Unit Not Powering On:

  • Power Connection: Verify that the USB cable is securely connected to both the evaCHILL unit and the power source.
  • Power Source: Ensure your USB power source (e.g., power bank, laptop, wall adapter) provides at least 2A 5V. Try a different power source if unsure.
