2. Setup Guide

2.1 Before You Begin

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. Most smart plugs only support 2.4 GHz for initial connection.
  • Place the smart plug and your Wi-Fi router in an area with good signal transmission, avoiding strong electromagnetic interference or thick concrete walls that may block Wi-Fi signals.
  • Download the "Smart Life" or "Avatar Smart Home" app from your mobile device's app store.

2.2 Initial Connection Steps

  1. Plug In: Insert the smart plug into a standard wall outlet.
  2. Open App: Launch the downloaded "Smart Life" or "Avatar Smart Home" app on your smartphone.
  3. Add Device: Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. This usually involves selecting "Electrical Outlet" or "Socket (Wi-Fi)".
  4. Confirm Indicator: Ensure the indicator light on the smart plug is blinking rapidly. If not, press and hold the power button on the plug for 5-10 seconds until it blinks rapidly.
  5. Enter Wi-Fi Details: Input your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network name and password into the app.
  6. Connect: The app will attempt to connect to the smart plug. Once connected, the indicator light on the plug will turn solid.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Remote Control via App

Once the smart plug is successfully added to the app, you can control it from anywhere with an internet connection.

  • Open the app and select the desired smart plug from your device list.
  • Tap the power icon to turn the connected appliance on or off.

3.2 Voice Control

The smart plugs are compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. To enable voice control:

  1. Link your "Smart Life" or "Avatar Smart Home" account to your Alexa or Google Home app.
  2. Discover devices within the Alexa/Google Home app.
  3. Once discovered, you can use voice commands such as:
    • "Alexa, turn on the living room light."
    • "Hey Google, turn off the fan."

3.3 Timer and Schedule Functions

Automate your devices by setting schedules and timers.

  • In the app, select the smart plug and navigate to the "Schedule" or "Timer" section.
  • Set specific times for the plug to turn on or off (e.g., turn on lights at dusk, turn off at dawn).

3.4 Group Control

Control multiple smart plugs simultaneously by creating groups in the app.

  • In the app, go to device settings and select "Create Group".
  • Add multiple smart plugs to the group (e.g., "Living Room Lights").
  • Now, a single command or tap can control all devices in that group.

3.5 Family Sharing

Share control of your smart devices with family members.

  • In the app, navigate to "Home Management" or "Device Sharing".
  • Invite family members by entering their account details (e.g., email or phone number).
  • Shared users will then have access to control the devices.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the smart plugs with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or sprays.
  • Placement: Ensure the plugs are used in dry, indoor environments. Avoid exposure to moisture or extreme temperatures.
  • Overload Prevention: Do not exceed the maximum wattage of 1100 Watts. Avoid connecting high-power appliances such as air conditioners, heaters, or large motors to prevent damage to the plug and potential hazards.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the app for firmware updates for your smart plugs to ensure optimal performance and security.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Ask Alexa/Google to "Discover devices."
  • Ensure you are using the exact device name configured in the smart assistant app.
Plug is unresponsive.
  • No power.
  • Wi-Fi connection lost.
  • Overload protection triggered.
  • Check if the wall outlet has power.
  • Verify your Wi-Fi network is active and the plug is within range.
  • Unplug the appliance, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. Ensure the connected appliance does not exceed 1100 Watts.
  • Try resetting the smart plug.
