This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Pulsar PG2300iS Portable Inverter Generator. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the generator to ensure proper use and to prevent injury or damage.

Figure 1: Pulsar PG2300iS Inverter Generator - Main View
The Pulsar PG2300iS is a compact and quiet gas-powered inverter generator designed for portable power needs, offering 2300 peak watts and 1800 running watts. It features multiple outlets including AC 120V, DC 12V, and a 5V USB port, making it suitable for sensitive electronics, camping, tailgating, and small 120V appliances.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Carbon Monoxide Hazard
- Never operate the generator indoors or in enclosed spaces. Exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, and deadly gas.
- Operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far away from windows, doors, and vents.
- Install battery-operated carbon monoxide alarms in your home or camper.
Fuel Safety
- Gasoline is highly flammable. Store fuel in an approved container in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
- Do not refuel a hot or running engine. Allow the generator to cool before adding fuel.
- Avoid spilling fuel. If spilled, wipe it up immediately and ensure the area is dry before starting the generator.
Electrical Safety
- Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Keep it dry and away from rain or snow.
- Ensure all electrical connections are secure and in good condition.
- Do not overload the generator. Refer to the specifications for maximum wattage.
3. Setup and Initial Preparation
Before first use, the generator requires initial setup, including adding engine oil and fuel.
3.1 Adding Engine Oil
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick. This is typically found behind a side cover.
- Remove the side cover by loosening the two screws and gently popping it off.
- Unscrew the oil fill dipstick.
- Using the provided funnel, carefully pour the entire contents of the included motor oil into the oil reservoir. The included oil quantity is precisely measured for the generator.
- Check the oil level with the dipstick to ensure it is at the full mark.
- Replace the oil fill dipstick and secure the side cover.

3.2 Adding Fuel
- Ensure the generator is turned OFF and has cooled down if previously operated.
- Unscrew the fuel cap located on top of the generator.
- Carefully pour fresh, unleaded gasoline into the fuel tank. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the fuel cap.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Starting the Generator
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface outdoors and away from any combustible materials.
- Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
- Move the choke lever to the CHOKE position (if the engine is cold).
- Turn the engine switch to the RUN position.
- Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the RUN position.

The control panel includes the engine switch (OFF/RUN/CHOKE), economy mode switch, 12V DC outlet, 5V USB port, and 120V AC outlets.
4.2 Connecting Devices
- Once the generator is running stably, you can plug in your electrical devices into the appropriate outlets.
- The PG2300iS provides stable sine wave power, making it safe for sensitive electronics like laptops and smartphones.
- Economy Mode: For lighter loads, switch to Economy Mode to save fuel and reduce noise. The engine speed will adjust automatically based on the load.
- Parallel Capability: This generator can be connected in parallel with another compatible Pulsar inverter generator to double the power output. Refer to the parallel kit instructions for detailed setup.

4.3 Stopping the Generator
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
- Turn the fuel valve to the OFF position.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your generator.
5.1 Engine Oil Change
- Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
- Refer to the "Adding Engine Oil" section for the oil change procedure. Ensure the engine is warm for easier draining.
5.2 Air Filter Cleaning
- Inspect the air filter regularly and clean or replace it as needed, especially in dusty conditions.
5.3 Spark Plug Inspection
- Check the spark plug annually or every 100 hours. Clean or replace if fouled or worn.
5.4 Fuel Storage (Long-Term)
- For long-term storage (over 30 days), add a fuel stabilizer to the gasoline.
- Run the engine for a few minutes to circulate the stabilized fuel.
- Alternatively, drain all fuel from the tank and carburetor to prevent gumming.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine will not start | No fuel; Low oil level; Choke not set correctly; Spark plug issue; Clogged fuel line/carburetor. | Add fuel; Add oil; Adjust choke; Inspect/clean/replace spark plug; Clean fuel system. |
| No power output | Overload; Circuit breaker tripped; Loose connections. | Reduce load; Reset circuit breaker; Check connections. |
| Engine runs rough | Stale fuel; Clogged air filter; Spark plug issue. | Drain and replace fuel; Clean/replace air filter; Inspect/clean/replace spark plug. |
