1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the SDETER 1080P Wireless WiFi Solar Powered Security Camera. This camera is designed for outdoor surveillance, offering a wire-free solution with its integrated solar panel and rechargeable battery. It features advanced radar motion detection, dual night vision modes (infrared and full-color), and provides 24-hour live video access via a mobile application. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new security camera.

2. Safety Information

  • Ensure the camera is installed in a location where it is protected from extreme weather conditions beyond its IP67 rating.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the camera. This may void the warranty and pose safety risks.
  • Use only the specified power adapter or charging method for the camera's battery.
  • This camera supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks only (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). It does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11ac).
  • For optimal performance, ensure the solar panel receives adequate direct sunlight.
  • The camera does not support cloud storage; please use a compatible TF card for local storage.

Key components include the camera lens, infrared LEDs for night vision, a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio, the solar panel for continuous charging, and the Wi-Fi antenna for wireless connectivity. The camera also features a reset button and a TF card slot, typically located under a protective cover.

5. Setup

5.1 Physical Installation

Choose a suitable outdoor location for installation, ensuring the camera has a clear view and the solar panel receives ample direct sunlight throughout the day. The camera is designed for wall mounting.

  1. Mounting Location: Identify a sturdy surface for mounting. If the camera's location does not receive enough light, the solar panel can be installed separately in a well-lit area using an extension cord (not included).
  2. Secure Mounting: Use the provided mounting bracket and screws to securely attach the camera to the desired surface. Ensure the mounting arm is tightened properly to prevent movement.
  3. Solar Panel Adjustment: Position the solar panel to maximize sun exposure. It should be angled to capture direct sunlight for most of the day to ensure continuous charging of the internal battery.

5.2 App Installation and Camera Connection

To access live video and camera settings, you need to download the compatible mobile application.

  1. Download App: Search for the recommended mobile application (e.g., 'Mycam' or similar as indicated in product packaging) on your smartphone's app store (Android or iOS).
  2. Account Registration: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to register a new account.
  3. Add Device: Select the option to add a new device. Follow the in-app prompts to connect your camera to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  4. Connection Tips: During the connection process, ensure your smartphone and the camera are close to your Wi-Fi router. If connection issues arise, try restarting your router, resetting the camera (using the reset button), and then attempting to connect again. If the camera was previously connected, delete it from the app before re-connecting.

6. Operating the Camera

6.1 Live Video and Recording

Once connected, you can view live video streams from your camera via the mobile app at any time. The camera records video to a local TF card (not included).

6.2 Motion Detection

The camera utilizes radar motion detection, which is designed to be more accurate than traditional PIR detection, reducing false alarms.

  • Sensitivity Settings: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity within the app to suit your environment and minimize unwanted alerts.
  • Alerts: The camera is configured for motion-only alerts. You will receive notifications on your smartphone when motion is detected.

6.3 Night Vision

The camera offers two night vision modes for clear visibility in low-light conditions:

  • Infrared Night Vision: Provides clear black and white images in complete darkness.
  • Full-Color Night Vision: Utilizes white LED lights to provide full-color video even at night, enhancing detail and clarity.

6.4 Inductive Street Light Feature

The camera can automatically turn on its integrated light when a person is detected, acting as an inductive street light.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Regularly clean the camera lens and solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to ensure optimal performance and charging efficiency. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

7.2 Battery Care

The camera is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable battery, continuously charged by the solar panel.

  • Ensure the solar panel is free from obstructions (e.g., leaves, dirt) that could block sunlight.
  • If the camera is installed in an area with insufficient sunlight, the solar panel can be removed and placed in a sunnier spot using an extension cord.
  • In prolonged periods of low sunlight, the camera can be charged via its USB port using a standard USB charger.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SDETER security camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Camera shuts off unexpectedlyEven with a full charge, a reset might be needed. Ensure the solar panel is clean and receiving adequate sunlight. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
Poor video quality at nightEnsure the camera lens is clean. Check if the night vision mode is set correctly in the app (infrared or full-color). Ensure no obstructions are blocking the infrared or white LED lights.
Delay between motion detection and recordingThis can sometimes occur due to network latency or processing time. Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong at the camera's location.
