3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

Each walkie talkie requires 4 AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install batteries:

  1. Locate the belt clip on the back of the walkie talkie.
  2. Press the lock tab on the top of the clip and slide the clip upwards to remove it.
  3. Gently pry open the battery compartment cover.
  4. Insert 4 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Replace the battery compartment cover and reattach the belt clip.

3.2 Power On/Off

To power on, press and hold the MENU/POWER button until the LCD screen lights up. To power off, press and hold the same button until the screen turns off.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Channel Selection

Your walkie talkies have 22 available channels. To change channels:

  1. Press the MENU/POWER button once. The channel number on the LCD will flash.
  2. Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
  3. Press the MENU/POWER button again to confirm, or wait a few seconds for it to set automatically.

4.2 Sub-Channel (Privacy Codes)

To ensure private communication and reduce interference, you can set sub-channels:

  1. Press the MENU/POWER button twice. The sub-channel number will flash.
  2. Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons to select your desired sub-channel (0-99).
  3. Press the MENU/POWER button again to confirm, or wait a few seconds for it to set automatically.

Note: All walkie talkies must be on the same channel and sub-channel to communicate.

4.3 VOX Function (Hands-Free)

The VOX function allows you to transmit by speaking into the microphone without pressing the PTT button. To activate/deactivate VOX:

  1. Press the MENU/POWER button three times. "VOX" will appear on the screen.
  2. Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons to select the VOX sensitivity level (1-3, with 3 being most sensitive) or "OF" to turn it off.
  3. Press the MENU/POWER button again to confirm.

4.4 Call Tone

You can choose from 10 different call tones:

  1. Press the MENU/POWER button four times. "CA" will appear on the screen.
  2. Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons to cycle through the 10 call tones.
  3. Press the MENU/POWER button again to confirm.

4.5 Keypad Lock

To prevent accidental button presses, you can lock the keypad:

  • Press and hold the CALL/LOCK button for a few seconds until a lock icon appears on the LCD.
  • To unlock, press and hold the CALL/LOCK button again until the lock icon disappears.

4.6 Flashlight

Each walkie talkie includes a built-in flashlight:

  • Press the LAMP button once to turn the flashlight on.
  • Press the LAMP button again to turn the flashlight off.

4.7 Talking (PTT Button)

To transmit your voice:

  • Press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button located on the side of the walkie talkie.
  • Speak clearly into the microphone.
  • Release the PTT button to listen for a response.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator on the LCD screen shows low power, replace all 4 AAA batteries in the unit. Always replace all batteries at the same time and use new, good quality batteries for optimal performance.

5.2 Cleaning

To clean your walkie talkies, use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the unit. Keep the devices dry.

5.3 Storage

  • Short Range: Range can be affected by terrain, weather, and obstructions. For optimal range, use in open outdoor areas.
  • Keypad Unresponsive: Check if the keypad lock function is activated (lock icon on LCD). Press and hold the CALL/LOCK button to unlock.
