5. Setup

  2. Plug the timer unit's power cord into the grounded outdoor receptacle.
  3. Ensure the unit is positioned vertically with the outlets facing downwards to prevent water from entering the receptacles.
  4. Plug your outdoor lights or appliances into the two grounded outlets on the timer unit.

5.2 Remote Pairing

The timer unit and remote control are typically pre-programmed for immediate use. If the remote does not control the unit, or if you are pairing a new remote, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the timer unit is plugged into a power source.
  2. Locate the small 'Learning Code' button on the timer unit (often near the power indicator light).
  3. Press and hold the 'Learning Code' button until the power indicator light begins to flash.
  4. While the indicator light is flashing, press the OFF button on your wireless remote control.
  5. The indicator light on the timer unit will stop flashing, confirming that the remote control has been successfully paired.

Note: Some manuals may incorrectly state to press the 'ON' button for pairing. For this model, press the 'OFF' button on the remote during the pairing process.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Timer Dial Functions

Rotate the timer dial on the unit to select your desired operating mode:

  • OFF: The power to the connected devices is continuously off.
  • ON: The power to the connected devices is continuously on.
  • 2H / 4H / 6H / 8H (Countdown Timer): The unit will automatically turn on at dusk (detected by the photocell sensor) and remain on for the selected duration (2, 4, 6, or 8 hours), then turn off.
  • DUSK TO DAWN: The unit will automatically turn on when it detects dusk and remain on until it detects dawn, then turn off.

6.2 Remote Control Operation

The wireless remote control allows for manual override of the timer settings and convenient control from a distance of up to 100 feet (line of sight).

  • Press the ON button on the remote to manually turn on the connected devices.
  • Press the OFF button on the remote to manually turn off the connected devices.

The remote control can be used to control multiple Link2Home outdoor timer units simultaneously if they are paired to the same remote.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the unit and photocell sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
  • Photocell Sensor: Keep the photocell sensor free from dirt, debris, or obstructions (e.g., leaves, snow, direct light from other sources) to ensure accurate dusk/dawn detection.
  • Battery Replacement: The remote control uses one CR2032 lithium manganese dioxide battery. If the remote's range or responsiveness decreases, replace the battery. Refer to the remote's casing for instructions on opening the battery compartment.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord, plug, and unit housing for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion. Discontinue use if damage is found.

8. Troubleshooting
