3. Setup
3.1 Connecting the Microphone
- Ensure your audio mixer or interface is powered off before making connections.

4.1 Bass Roll-Off Switch
The RE520 features an internal 150Hz bass roll-off switch. This switch is designed to reduce low-frequency rumble, stage noise, and the proximity effect (an increase in bass response when the microphone is close to the sound source). To access the switch:
- Carefully unscrew the microphone grille.
- Locate the small switch near the microphone capsule.
- Toggle the switch to the desired position (flat or roll-off).
- Gently reattach the grille, ensuring it is securely fastened.

- Input Gain: Confirm that the input gain on your mixer or interface is set appropriately and not turned down completely.
- Mixer/Interface Settings: Check that the correct input channel is selected and not muted on your audio equipment.
6.2 Feedback Issues
- Microphone Placement: Position the microphone away from loudspeakers and monitors. The supercardioid pattern offers best rejection directly from the rear.
