Setup

Unpacking and Initial Assembly

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts listed in the included accessories section are present. Assembly is straightforward and does not require special tools.

Attaching the Hose and Wand

Insert the end of the suction hose into the suction opening on the vacuum canister until it clicks securely into place. Attach the telescopic suction wand to the hose handle. Then, attach your desired floorhead (TurboTeQ or Parquet) to the end of the telescopic wand.

Accessory Storage

The included dusting brush, crevice tool, and upholstery tool can be conveniently stored on the VarioClip attached to the hose, ensuring they are always within reach during cleaning.

Operating Instructions

Power Settings

The Miele Classic C1 Turbo Team features 6 suction power settings, allowing you to adjust the suction level according to the surface being cleaned. Use the rotary dial on the canister unit to select the appropriate setting:

• Curtains/Light Fabrics: Lowest setting for delicate materials.
• Upholstery: Low to medium setting for furniture.
• Low-Pile Carpet/Rugs: Medium setting for general carpet cleaning.
• Hard Floors: Medium to high setting for hard surfaces.
• Heavy-Duty Carpet/Flooring: High setting for deeply embedded dirt.

Using the Floorheads

Your vacuum comes with two primary floorheads for optimal cleaning performance:

• STB 305-3 TurboTeQ Floorhead: This turbobrush is ideal for low to medium pile carpets and rugs. Its rotating brush bar effectively removes lint, pet hair, and embedded dirt.
• SBB Parquet-3 Floorhead: Designed for sensitive hard floors such as hardwood, tile, and laminate. It features soft, natural bristles that gently clean without scratching.

Maneuverability

The compact and lightweight design of the Miele Classic C1, weighing approximately 13 pounds, combined with smooth-gliding caster wheels, allows for excellent maneuverability around and underneath furniture. The hose turns 360 degrees in the canister body, and the canister itself can rotate 360 degrees in place, making it easy to navigate in any direction.

Maintenance

AirClean Filtration System

The Miele Classic C1 features a unique 3-tiered AirClean filtration system designed to ensure cleaner exhaust air than the room air before vacuuming. This system consists of:

• Genuine Miele FilterBag: Captures fine dust and allergens.
• Motor Protection Filter: Protects the motor from dust and debris.
• AirClean Exhaust Filter: Provides final filtration before air is expelled.

Replacing the FilterBag

The AirClean FilterBag should be replaced when the "Change FilterBag" indicator on the canister unit turns red, or when suction power noticeably decreases. To replace:

1. Open the dust compartment lid.
2. The FilterBag automatically seals upon removal, preventing dust escape.
3. Carefully remove the full FilterBag and dispose of it.
4. Insert a new genuine Miele AirClean FilterBag, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
5. Close the dust compartment lid.

Replacing Filters

The Motor Protection Filter and AirClean Exhaust Filter should be replaced approximately once a year, or after every 5 FilterBags, whichever comes first. Refer to your vacuum's specific instructions for filter access and replacement.

Troubleshooting

• Ensure all connections (hose to canister, wand to hose, floorhead to wand) are secure.
• Check if the motor protection filter or exhaust filter are clogged and require replacement.
• Unusual Noise: Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Check for any foreign objects caught in the brush roll (if applicable to the floorhead) or hose.
• Overheating: If the vacuum shuts off automatically, it may be due to overheating. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool down for at least 30 minutes. Check for blockages that might be causing the motor to overwork.
