Introduction
This user manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Zebra ZT610 Industrial Printer. Designed for high-volume, mission-critical operations, the ZT610 delivers exceptional performance and reliability. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the printer to ensure safe and efficient use.
1. Setup
1.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove the printer from its packaging. Inspect the printer for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. Report any damage to your carrier and Zebra representative immediately. Ensure all components listed in the packing slip are present.
1.2 Connecting Power and Data Cables
Connect the power cord to the printer's power input and then to a grounded electrical outlet. For data connectivity, the ZT610 supports Bluetooth, USB, and Ethernet. Connect the appropriate data cable (USB or Ethernet) to the printer and your host system. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the device.
1.3 Loading Print Media (Labels)
The ZT610 is designed to use various types of print media, including labels and tags. Follow these steps to load your media:
- Open the media cover by lifting the latch.
- Place the roll of labels onto the media supply hanger, ensuring the media unwinds from the bottom of the roll.
- Feed the leading edge of the media under the media guides and through the print mechanism. Adjust the media guides to fit the width of your labels snugly but without binding.
- Close the media cover securely.

2.2 Basic Printing Procedures
Once the printer is set up and connected to your computer or network, you can send print jobs from your application. Ensure the correct printer driver is installed and configured for the ZT610. The printer will automatically detect the media type and size, or you can manually configure these settings via the control panel or printer driver.
3. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your ZT610 printer. Always power off and unplug the printer before performing any maintenance.
3.1 Routine Cleaning
- Exterior Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior of the printer. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Interior Cleaning: Periodically clean the interior of the printer, especially areas where dust or media debris may accumulate. Use compressed air or a soft brush.
3.2 Printhead Care
The printhead is a critical component. Clean the printhead regularly (e.g., after every roll of media or as needed) using a printhead cleaning pen or isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth. Gently wipe across the printhead elements to remove any residue.
3.3 Platen Roller Cleaning
Clean the platen roller (the rubber roller that the media passes over) with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Rotate the roller manually to clean its entire surface. A clean platen roller helps ensure proper media feeding and print quality.
