Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the mixer amplifier from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Power Connection
- Ensure the power switch on the rear panel is in the OFF position.
- Connect the supplied power cable to the AC IN socket on the rear panel of the mixer amplifier.
- Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable grounded 230Vac/50Hz mains outlet.
3. Input Connections
The AM8A features 8 input channels, each with XLR microphone inputs and 6.3mm jack line inputs. Additional RCA inputs are available for stereo sources.
- Microphones: Connect microphones to the XLR inputs (CH1-CH8). If using condenser microphones, activate the +48V Phantom Power switch (located near the master section) after all microphones are connected and before powering on.
- Line-Level Devices: Connect instruments, keyboards, or other line-level devices to the 6.3mm jack inputs (CH1-CH8). For stereo sources, use the RCA inputs.
4. Output Connections
Connect your passive speakers and monitoring devices to the appropriate outputs.
- Speakers: Connect passive speakers to the 6.3mm jack SPEAKER OUTPUTS (LEFT and RIGHT) on the rear panel. Ensure the impedance of your speakers matches the amplifier's specifications (4-8 Ohm).
- External Amplifiers/Recording Devices: Use the XLR MAIN OUTPUTS (LEFT and RIGHT) to connect to external power amplifiers or recording equipment.
- Headphones: Plug headphones into the 6.3mm jack HEADPHONES output on the front panel for monitoring.

Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
- Before powering on, ensure all channel faders and the main fader are set to their minimum positions.
- Flip the POWER switch on the rear panel to the ON position.
- To power off, reverse the process: lower all faders, then switch off the unit.
2. Channel Controls (CH1-CH8)
- GAIN: Adjusts the input sensitivity for each channel. Set this to achieve a strong signal without clipping (distortion).
- HI/LOW EQ: Two-band equalizer for adjusting the high and low frequencies of each channel.
- EFF: Controls the amount of signal sent to the internal DSP effects processor.
- PAN: Adjusts the stereo position (left to right) of the channel's signal.
- PFL: (Pre-Fader Listen) Activates monitoring of the channel's signal through headphones, independent of the channel fader.
- CHANNEL FADER: Controls the output level of each individual channel to the main mix.
3. Master Controls
- MAIN FADER (L+R): Controls the overall output volume of the mixer amplifier.
- PHONES: Adjusts the volume of the headphone output.
- GRAPHIC EQUALIZER: A 5-band equalizer (70Hz, 250Hz, 1KHz, 4KHz, 12KHz) to fine-tune the overall frequency response of the main mix.
- DSP EFFECTS: Select from 16 digital effects using the 'UP' and 'DOWN' buttons. Adjust the 'EFF LEVEL' knob to control the wet/dry mix of the effects.
- +48V PHANTOM: Activates phantom power for condenser microphones connected to the XLR inputs.
4. MP3/USB/SD Player & Bluetooth
The integrated media player supports USB drives and SD cards for MP3 playback, and also features Bluetooth connectivity.
- USB/SD Playback: Insert a USB drive or SD card into the respective slot. The unit will automatically detect and begin playing compatible audio files. Use the transport controls (Play/Pause, Skip) to navigate.
- Bluetooth Pairing: Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device. Select 'VONYX AM8A' from the list of available devices. Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly to the mixer amplifier.
- Mode Selection: Use the 'MODE' button to switch between USB, SD, and Bluetooth input sources.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the unit with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays.
- Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation grilles are free from dust and debris to maintain proper cooling.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the unit in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cable Management: Keep cables organized and free from kinks or excessive bending to prevent damage.
Troubleshooting
