4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the iron and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for storage or transport. Check for any damage. If the product is damaged, do not use it and contact customer support.

4.2 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the water tank cap on the base unit.
  3. Open the cap and fill the 1-liter water tank with clean tap water. Do not exceed the maximum fill line.
  4. Close the water tank cap securely.

4.3 Power Connection

Place the iron unit securely on its base. Plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet. The iron is now ready for operation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Initial Heat-up

Once plugged in, the iron will begin to heat up. The indicator light will illuminate. The iron will be ready for use in approximately one minute when the light indicates readiness.

5.2 Temperature Selection

Adjust the temperature dial on the iron to the appropriate setting for your fabric type. Refer to garment care labels for guidance. Start with lower temperatures for delicate fabrics and increase for heavier materials.

5.3 Steam Ironing

Once the iron reaches the selected temperature and the steam is ready (indicated by the light), press the steam button on the iron handle to release continuous steam. For an extra burst of steam for stubborn creases, use the Super Steam function.

5.4 Dry Ironing

To iron without steam, ensure the water tank is empty or the steam function is turned off. Set the temperature according to the fabric type.

5.5 Continuous Refill (NoStop Technology)

The 1-liter water tank allows for extended ironing sessions. If the water level becomes low during ironing, you can refill the tank without turning off the iron or waiting for it to cool down. Simply open the water tank cap, add water, and close it securely.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Soleplate

To clean the soleplate, ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary. Do not use abrasive pads or metallic scourers, as these can damage the soleplate.

6.2 Descaling (ZeroCalc Technology)

The Imetec Zerocalc PS1 2000 features integrated anti-calc technology.
