4.3 Assembling and Adjusting the Telescoping Pole
The pole consists of multiple sections that can be adjusted for desired length.
- Loosen the locking collars on the pole sections.
- Extend the pole to the desired length, ensuring all sections are securely engaged. Do not over-extend beyond the marked limits.
- Tighten the locking collars firmly to secure the pole sections in place.
- Attach the shoulder strap for improved balance and reduced strain during use.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting the Pole Saw
- Ensure the battery is installed and the oil reservoir is filled.
- Hold the pole saw firmly with both hands, maintaining a balanced stance.
- Disengage the built-in safety switch.
- Press the trigger to start the chain saw. The chain will begin to rotate.
- Release the trigger to stop the saw. Always engage the safety switch when not cutting.
5.2 Cutting Techniques
Always plan your cuts to ensure safety and control.
- Small Branches: For branches less than 2 inches in diameter, a single cut from the top may suffice.
- Larger Branches (3-cut method): For larger branches, use the following method to prevent bark stripping:
- Make a shallow undercut on the bottom of the branch, about 6-12 inches from the main trunk.
- Make a top cut further out from the undercut, allowing the branch to break cleanly.
- Make a final cut close to the trunk to remove the stub.
- Cutting Logs: When cutting logs on the ground, ensure they are stable and cannot roll. Avoid cutting into the ground, which can dull the chain.
- Overhead Cutting: When cutting overhead, stand clear of falling debris. Use the shoulder strap for better control and balance.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pole saw.
6.1 Cleaning
- After each use, remove the battery and clean the tool.
- Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth.
- Remove sawdust and debris from the guide bar and chain area.
6.2 Chain Lubrication
- Regularly check the oil level in the reservoir and refill as necessary.
- Ensure the automatic oiler is functioning by observing oil on the chain during operation.
6.3 Chain Sharpening and Tension
- A sharp chain is crucial for efficient and safe cutting. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when dull. Refer to a qualified service technician for chain sharpening if unsure.
- Check chain tension before each use. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand.
