5. Setup and Installation
This section provides a general overview of the installation process. Refer to the detailed installation manual provided with the product for specific diagrams and step-by-step instructions.
5.1. Site Preparation
- Ensure the gate structure is sound and operates smoothly manually.
- Verify adequate space for actuator movement and gate swing.
- Plan cable routes for power and control wiring, ensuring they are protected from damage and moisture.
5.2. Actuator Installation
- Mount the fixing plates securely to the gate post and gate leaf according to the provided template.
- Attach the R20/300 actuators to the fixing plates, ensuring correct alignment and smooth operation throughout the gate's travel.
- Adjust the mechanical stops or limit switches for precise open and closed positions.
5.3. Control Unit and Wiring
- Mount the H70/200AC/BOX control unit in a protected, easily accessible location near the gate.
- Connect the 230V AC power supply to the control unit, ensuring proper grounding.
- Wire the two R20/300 actuators to the control unit as per the wiring diagram.
- Install the H93/RX22A/I radio receiver board into the designated slot on the control unit.
5.4. Safety Devices Installation
- Mount the R90/F2ES photocells at the recommended height and distance, ensuring they are perfectly aligned and free from obstructions.
- Wire the photocells to the control unit's safety input terminals.
5.5. Flashing Light and Antenna Installation
- Mount the R92/LED230 flashing light in a visible location.
- Connect the R91/AN1/LR1 antenna to the flashing light and wire the light to the control unit.
5.6. Initial Power-Up and Programming
- Apply power to the control unit.
- Follow the control unit's specific instructions for initial setup, motor learning, and programming the E80/TX52R/2 remote controls.
- Test all safety features and gate movements thoroughly before final use.
6. Operating Instructions
Once installed and programmed, the Roger R20/310 Swing Gate Kit is designed for simple operation.
6.1. Using the Remote Control
- Press the programmed button on your E80/TX52R/2 remote control to activate the gate.
- A single press typically initiates an open or close cycle. Another press during operation may stop the gate, and a third press will reverse its direction (depending on programming).
- Ensure a clear line of sight to the gate and that no obstructions are present before operating.
6.2. Manual Override
In case of power failure or system malfunction, the gate can be operated manually. Locate the manual release mechanism on each actuator (refer to the actuator's specific manual for details) and follow the instructions to disengage the motor, allowing the gate to be moved by hand.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Roger R20/310 Swing Gate Kit.
- Monthly: Check the gate's mechanical components for wear, rust, or damage. Ensure hinges are lubricated and free-moving.
- Quarterly: Inspect all electrical connections for corrosion or loose wiring. Clean photocell lenses to ensure clear operation. Test the functionality of all safety devices.
- Annually: Have the system inspected by a qualified technician to check motor performance, control unit settings, and overall system integrity.
- Keep the area around the gate and actuators clear of debris, vegetation, and obstructions.
