3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your ASTRO A40 TR Headset for optimal performance.

3.1 Attaching the Microphone

  1. Locate the microphone port on either the left or right earcup of the headset.
  2. Align the microphone connector with the port and firmly insert it until it clicks into place.
  3. Position the microphone boom to your preferred side and adjust its flexibility for optimal voice pickup.

3.2 Connecting to Your Device

The A40 TR Headset connects via a 3.5mm jack. The connection method varies slightly depending on your device.

3.2.1 PlayStation 4 / PlayStation 5

  1. Connect the 1.0m A40 TR Mobile Cable to the 3.5mm port on the headset.
  2. Plug the other end of the 1.0m A40 TR Mobile Cable into the 3.5mm headset jack on your PlayStation controller.
  3. Adjust audio settings on your PlayStation console to ensure output is directed to the headset.

3.2.2 PC / Mac

  1. Connect the 1.0m A40 TR Mobile Cable to the 3.5mm port on the headset.
  2. Connect the 1.0m A40 TR Mobile Cable to the female end of the 1.5m PC Splitter Cable.
  3. Plug the two male ends of the 1.5m PC Splitter Cable into the corresponding headphone (green) and microphone (pink) jacks on your PC or Mac.
  4. Ensure your computer's audio settings are configured to use the headset as the default input and output device.

3.3 Enhancing Audio with MixAmp Pro TR (Sold Separately)

While the A40 TR Headset functions directly with a 3.5mm connection, for full functionality, including higher volume levels, Dolby Atmos support, and advanced audio customization, the ASTRO MixAmp Pro TR (sold separately) is highly recommended. Connecting the headset to a MixAmp Pro TR unlocks the headset's full potential for competitive gaming audio.
