3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the anemometer.
  2. Open the battery cover.
  3. Insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

3.2 Attaching the Lanyard

  1. Locate the lanyard attachment point at the bottom of the device.
  2. Thread the lanyard through the hole and secure it.

3.3 Tripod Mounting (Optional)

The AP-007 features a standard tripod mounting hole at its base for stable, hands-free measurements.

  1. Screw the anemometer onto the small tripod provided or any compatible tripod.
  2. Ensure the device is securely attached before use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the Power (ⓘ) button to turn the device on.
  • Press and hold the Power (ⓘ) button to turn the device off manually.
  • The device will automatically power off after 5 minutes of inactivity.

4.2 Changing Wind Speed Units

  • Press the UNIT button to cycle through the available wind speed units: m/s, km/h, ft/min, knots, and mph.

4.3 Changing Temperature Units

  • Press the °F/°C button to switch between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉).

4.4 Backlight Function

  • Press the Backlight (☀) button to turn the LCD backlight on or off.

4.5 Max/Min/Average Measurement

  • Press the MAX/MIN button to view the maximum or minimum wind speed recorded during the current measurement session.
  • Press the AVG button to display the average wind speed.

4.6 Taking Measurements

  • Hold the anemometer upright, ensuring the wind flow passes directly through the vanes for accurate readings.
  • Avoid obstructing the airflow to the sensor.
  • The current wind speed and temperature will be displayed on the LCD screen.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Gently clean the wind vanes to ensure they rotate freely and are free from dust or debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.2 Battery Replacement

  • Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
