4. Drainage
The Midea Dehumidifier offers two primary methods for water drainage: manual bucket emptying or continuous drainage via a hose.
4.1 Manual Bucket Drainage
The unit is equipped with a 1.6-gallon (50-pint) water bucket. When the bucket is full, the dehumidifier will automatically stop operating and an indicator light will illuminate. Simply pull out the bucket, empty the collected water, and reinsert it. The unit will resume operation once the bucket is properly seated.

Figure 4.1: The dehumidifier supports both continuous drainage and manual bucket emptying.
4.2 Continuous Drainage
For continuous operation without the need for frequent bucket emptying, you can connect a standard garden hose (not included) to the built-in socket at the back of the unit. Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to allow for gravity drainage into a suitable drain or sump pump. The unit will then continuously drain water as it collects.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Midea Dehumidifier.
5.1 Cleaning the Air Filter
The unit features a reusable air filter located at the back. It is recommended to clean the filter regularly (approximately every 250 hours of operation, or when the filter indicator light illuminates) to maintain air quality and dehumidifier efficiency. To clean, simply remove the filter and rinse it under running water. Allow it to dry completely before reinserting.

5.2 General Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the dehumidifier occasionally with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Always unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent electric shock or fire hazards.

7. Troubleshooting
If your dehumidifier is not operating as expected, please refer to the following common issues and solutions:
- Unit does not turn on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a grounded outlet. Ensure there is no power outage. Verify the water bucket is not full and is correctly inserted.
- Dehumidifier is not collecting water: Check if the desired humidity level is set higher than the current room humidity. Lower the setting if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and not obstructed. Verify that the unit is placed in an area with adequate airflow.
- Unit is running but humidity is not decreasing: This could indicate a very large or excessively humid space. Consider running the unit in Continuous Mode or Turbo Mode for a period. Ensure all windows and doors in the area are closed to prevent outside moisture from entering.
- Unusual noise: Check for any obstructions in the air intake or exhaust vents. Ensure the unit is on a level surface. If the noise persists, contact customer support.
- Water leakage: Ensure the water bucket is properly seated. If using continuous drainage, check that the hose connection is secure and the hose is not kinked or blocked, allowing for proper gravity flow.
