Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Masterbuilt SH19030819 Propane Tabletop Grill:

  1. Unpack the Grill: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the grill for any damage.
  2. Deploy Legs: Unfold the legs until they lock securely into place, ensuring the grill is stable on a flat, non-combustible surface.
  3. Install Cooking Grates and Warming Rack: Place the cooking grates and warming rack inside the grill body.
  4. Connect Propane Cylinder: Ensure the grill's control knob is in the 'OFF' position. Screw a 1-pound propane cylinder onto the regulator on the side of the grill. Hand-tighten only. Do not overtighten.
  5. Leak Test: Before first use and after every cylinder change, perform a leak test. Apply a soapy water solution to all gas connections. Bubbles indicate a leak. Tighten connections or replace parts as necessary. Do not use the grill if a leak is detected.
  6. Initial Burn-Off: Before cooking food for the first time, operate the grill on high for 15 minutes with the lid closed to burn off any manufacturing residues.

Operating Instructions

To operate your Masterbuilt SH19030819 Propane Tabletop Grill:

  1. Lighting the Burner: Ensure the propane cylinder is securely connected. Turn the control knob to the 'HIGH' position. Press and hold the push-button igniter until the burner lights. If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the control knob to 'OFF', wait 5 minutes, and repeat the lighting procedure.
  2. Temperature Control: Use the control knob to adjust the flame intensity and cooking temperature. The built-in thermometer on the lid provides a temperature reading inside the grill.
  3. Preheating: For best results, preheat the grill for 5-10 minutes with the lid closed before placing food on the grates.
  4. Cooking: Place food on the cooking grates. The chrome-coated warming rack can be used for keeping food warm or for indirect cooking.
  5. Shutting Down: When finished cooking, turn the control knob to the 'OFF' position. Disconnect the propane cylinder once the grill has cooled completely.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your grill:

  • Cleaning Grates: After each use, once the grill has cooled, clean the cooking grates with a grill brush to remove food residue.
  • Grease Management: Regularly check and clean the grease tray located beneath the burner. Ensure it is free of excessive grease buildup to prevent flare-ups.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the stainless steel exterior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the finish.
  • Storage: When not in use, ensure the grill is clean and dry. Fold the legs and secure the lid with the locking latches for compact storage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
