Installation Instructions
Follow these steps carefully for proper installation. It is recommended to install this kit in conjunction with the Boom Mat Jeep Wrangler Headliner Kit for optimal results.
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the interior hardtop surface around the side windows is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or any residues. Use an automotive-safe cleaner if necessary.
- Test Fit: Before removing the adhesive backing, carefully position each trim piece to understand its correct placement. Note the contours and edges.
- Apply Trim Pieces:

- Peel back a small portion of the adhesive liner from one edge of a trim piece.
- Align the exposed adhesive edge with the corresponding area on the hardtop.
- Slowly and carefully press the trim piece into place, gradually peeling off the remaining adhesive liner as you go. Work from one end to the other, smoothing out any air bubbles or wrinkles.
- Apply firm, even pressure across the entire surface of the trim piece to ensure proper adhesion.
- Repeat for all Pieces: Follow the same procedure for all four side window trim pieces.
- Final Inspection: Once all pieces are installed, visually inspect them to ensure they are securely attached and properly aligned.

Operating Benefits
Once installed, the Boom Mat Side Window Trim Kit contributes to a more comfortable driving experience by:
- Reducing Noise: The sound deadening material helps to absorb road noise, wind noise, and other external sounds, making conversations easier and improving the clarity of your vehicle's audio system.
- Improving Thermal Insulation: The 1/2-inch thick material provides an additional layer of insulation, helping to keep the interior cooler in warm weather and warmer in cold weather.
Maintenance
The Boom Mat Side Window Trim Kit requires minimal maintenance. To clean, gently wipe the surface with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the material or adhesive.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Trim piece not adhering properly. | Surface not clean or dry; insufficient pressure during installation; adhesive contaminated. | Ensure surface is thoroughly cleaned and dried before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the entire surface. If adhesion is still poor, the piece may need to be replaced. |
| Air bubbles under the trim. | Improper application technique. | When applying, work slowly from one end, smoothing the material as you go to push out air. If bubbles are present after installation, gently press them towards the nearest edge to release trapped air. |
| Minimal perceived noise reduction. | Expectations may be too high for a partial kit; other noise sources present. | This kit is designed to complement a full headliner kit. For maximum noise reduction, consider installing the Boom Mat Jeep Wrangler Headliner Kit (sold separately). |
