5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide or gently pry open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 2 x AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Initial Power On
After installing the batteries, press and hold the Power button (⑁) for a few seconds until the LED display illuminates. The device will typically perform a brief self-test before displaying readings.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button (⑁) until the display turns on.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button (⑁) until the display turns off.
6.2 Taking Readings
Once powered on, the device will automatically begin detecting HCHO and TVOC levels in the surrounding air. The readings will be displayed on the LED screen in real-time.

- HCHO: Displays the concentration of Formaldehyde in Mg/M³.
- TVOC: Displays the concentration of Total Volatile Organic Compounds in Mg/M³.
6.3 Understanding Readings
The device measures concentrations in milligrams per cubic meter (Mg/M³). Refer to local air quality guidelines for recommended safe levels of HCHO and TVOC. Elevated readings may indicate poor air quality and suggest ventilation or other mitigation measures.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the casing or internal components.
7.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator (if present) shows low power, or the display becomes dim, replace the AA batteries following the installation steps in Section 5.1.
7.3 Storage
Store the device in a cool, dry place within the specified storage temperature range (-10 °C to 45 °C). Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on: Check if batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge. Replace with new batteries if necessary.
- Inaccurate or fluctuating readings: Ensure the device is used in a stable environment, away from strong air currents, direct heat sources, or chemical fumes that could interfere with sensors. Allow the device to stabilize for a few minutes after powering on.
- Display is dim or unreadable: Replace the batteries.
