- DC Power Input: Terminals for 12V DC car battery connection. Observe polarity (+/-).
- DC FUSE: T 6A L fuse for DC power protection.
- Speaker Outputs: Screw terminals for connecting speakers. Options include COM (Common), 4Ω, 8Ω, 16Ω, and 100V line output.
Setup
1. Unboxing and Inspection
Carefully remove the amplifier from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage. Ensure all components are present.
2. Power Connection
The UB-30 can be powered by either AC mains or a 12V DC battery.
- AC Mains (220-240V): Connect the provided AC power cord to the AC power input on the rear panel and then to a suitable wall outlet.
- DC Battery (12V): For portable use, connect a 12V car battery to the DC input terminals on the rear panel. Ensure correct polarity: positive (+) to positive, negative (-) to negative.
Caution: Always ensure the amplifier is switched OFF before connecting or disconnecting power sources.
3. Speaker Connection
Connect your speakers to the appropriate terminals on the rear panel. Match the speaker impedance to the amplifier's output impedance for optimal performance and to prevent damage.
- Connect the common (negative) terminal of your speaker(s) to the COM terminal on the amplifier.
- Connect the positive terminal of your speaker(s) to the 4Ω, 8Ω, or 16Ω terminal, matching your speaker's impedance.
- For 100V line speakers, connect to the 100V terminal and COM. Ensure your speakers are compatible with 100V line systems.
Important: Do not connect speakers to multiple impedance terminals simultaneously. Ensure all connections are secure.
4. Input Device Connection
- Microphones: Connect microphones to the MIC-1 and/or MIC-2/AUX 6.3mm input jacks on the front panel.
- Auxiliary Devices: Connect audio sources like smartphones, CD players, or laptops to the MIC-2/AUX input jack using an appropriate cable.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On
- Ensure all volume controls (MIC-1, MIC-2/AUX) are set to their minimum position (fully counter-clockwise).
- Press the POWER switch on the front panel to the 'ON' position. The power indicator light will illuminate.
2. Adjusting Volume
- For MIC-1, slowly turn the MIC-1 Volume Control clockwise until the desired sound level is achieved.
- For MIC-2 or AUX input, slowly turn the MIC-2/AUX Volume Control clockwise until the desired sound level is achieved.
- Avoid setting the volume too high, which can cause distortion or damage to speakers.
3. Tone Adjustment
Use the TONE Control knob to adjust the frequency response of the amplifier. Turning it towards 'CUT' will reduce higher frequencies (treble), while turning it towards 'FLAT' will provide a more balanced, full-range sound.
4. Powering Off
- Turn all volume controls to their minimum position.
- Press the POWER switch to the 'OFF' position. The power indicator light will turn off.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the amplifier with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
Fuse Replacement (DC Fuse)
If the amplifier fails to power on when using DC battery power, the DC fuse may need replacement. The fuse is located on the rear panel.
- Important: Disconnect all power sources (AC and DC) before attempting to replace the fuse.
- Unscrew the fuse holder cap on the rear panel.
- Remove the old fuse and replace it with a new fuse of the same type and rating (T 6A L).
- Securely screw the fuse holder cap back into place.
Caution: Always replace fuses with the specified type and rating to prevent damage to the amplifier or risk of fire.
