Installation & Setup

Mounting Options

The Razor Light Bar is designed for flexible installation on various marine surfaces. It can be surface mounted directly onto a hardtop or integrated into the hardtop during its initial build for a seamless look. All required hardware for surface mounting is included.

Avoiding Bow Glare

To ensure optimal visibility and prevent bow glare (light reflecting off the bow of the boat), proper light placement is crucial. Follow these steps:

  1. Temporarily place the unsecure light at the front of the hardtop and connect temporary power.
  2. Observe the light beam. If it creates bow glare (light reflecting off the bow), move the light backward on the hardtop.
  3. Continue moving the light backward until the bow glare is eliminated. The edge of the hardtop should shield the bow area and truncate the light beam effectively.
  4. Once the optimal position is found, mark the location and proceed with permanent installation using the provided hardware.

Operating Instructions

Dimming Function (Timed Toggle Protocol - TTP)

The Razor Light Bar features Lumitec's Timed Toggle Protocol (TTP) for dimming. This allows you to adjust the light intensity by cycling the power switch.

  1. Turn the light ON. It will begin to ramp up in brightness over a 4-second period.
  2. To set a desired intensity, simply turn the light OFF and then ON again at any point during the ramp-up period. The light will lock into the intensity it was at when toggled.
  3. To return to full brightness, turn the light OFF and then ON again after it has been off for more than 4 seconds.

Note: Razor is also available with PLI technology, making it compatible with Lumitec's Poco digital lighting control system for advanced control options.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Lumitec Razor Light Bar, regular maintenance is recommended.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the light bar with fresh water and a soft cloth to remove salt residue, dirt, and grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish or lens.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the light bar for any signs of damage, loose connections, or corrosion. Ensure all mounting hardware is secure.
  • Wiring: Check wiring for any fraying or damage. Ensure connections remain watertight.
