4. Setup

4.1 Pre-Installation Checks

Before beginning installation, ensure your monitor and desk meet the compatibility requirements:

  • Monitor Size: Compatible with ultrawide monitors up to 49 inches and standard flat/curved monitors up to 35 inches.
  • Monitor Weight: Supports monitors weighing up to 33 lbs (15 kg).
  • VESA Pattern: Supports VESA mounting patterns of 75x75mm and 100x100mm.
  • Desk Thickness: Compatible with desks 0.39" to 1.77" (10mm to 45mm) thick for both C-clamp and Grommet Base installations.

4.2 Mounting Options (C-Clamp / Grommet Base)

The monitor arm offers two installation methods: C-clamp for desk edges or Grommet Base for desks with a pre-drilled hole.

C-Clamp Installation:

  1. Attach the C-clamp to the main pole and secure it to the edge of your desk.
  2. Tighten the clamp screw until the mount is firmly secured to the desk.

Grommet Base Installation:

  1. Insert the grommet bolt through the desk hole and secure the base plate from underneath.
  2. Attach the main pole to the grommet base and tighten securely.

4.3 Attaching the Monitor and Gas Spring Adjustment

  1. Attach the VESA plate to the back of your monitor using the appropriate screws from the hardware kit.
  2. Slide the monitor with the attached VESA plate onto the arm's mounting head. Ensure it clicks into place securely.
  3. Gas Spring Tension Adjustment: Once the monitor is mounted, adjust the gas spring tension to match your monitor's weight. Use the provided Allen wrench to turn the adjustment screw.
    • Turn clockwise (towards '-') for lighter monitors to reduce tension.
    • Turn counter-clockwise (towards '+') for heavier monitors to increase tension.
    • Note: Keep the arm in a horizontal level during adjustment for best results.

  • Tilt: Adjust the monitor +450/-450 to reduce glare and find your preferred angle.
  • Swivel: Swivel the monitor +900/-900 to share your screen or change viewing direction.
  • Rotation: Rotate the monitor 1800 from landscape to portrait mode for different tasks.
  • Height Adjustment: The gas spring arm allows smooth vertical height adjustments.

Adjust the monitor arm so that the top of your screen is at or slightly below eye level, and your eyes are approximately an arm's length from the screen. This helps maintain a neutral posture and alleviates neck and eye fatigue.

5.3 Cable Management

  • Gas Spring: The gas spring is designed for long-term use (over 20,000 fatigue tests). If you notice a significant change in tension or difficulty holding the monitor's position, re-adjust the gas spring tension as described in Section 4.3.
