The Sordin Pro-X electronic ear muffs are designed to provide advanced hearing protection while enhancing situational awareness in noisy environments. This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use, maintenance, and care of your Sordin Pro-X ear muffs. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product.
2. Product Overview
The Sordin Pro-X series features active noise attenuation and sound amplification, making it suitable for various applications such as hunting and shooting. Key features include:

3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on one of the ear cups.
- Carefully open the battery compartment cover. This may require a small tool or coin to pry open if it is recessed.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely until it clicks into place.

3.2 Fitting the Ear Muffs
- Extend the headband to its maximum length.
- Place the ear cups over your ears, ensuring they fully cover your outer ears.
- Adjust the headband by sliding the ear cups up or down until a comfortable and secure seal is achieved around your ears. The headband should rest on top of your head.
- Ensure no hair or clothing interferes with the seal between the ear cups and your head, as this can compromise hearing protection.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
To power on the Sordin Pro-X ear muffs, press and hold the central button on the keypad (refer to Figure 4.1) for approximately 2 seconds until you hear an audible confirmation tone. To power off, press and hold the same central button for approximately 2 seconds until you hear a different confirmation tone.
4.2 Volume Control
Adjust the amplification level of ambient sounds using the '+' and '-' buttons located on the keypad (refer to Figure 4.1). Press the '+' button to increase volume and the '-' button to decrease volume. Adjust to a comfortable listening level that allows for clear situational awareness without discomfort.
4.3 Sound Modes
The Sordin Pro-X features four selectable sound modes designed for specific environments:
- Hunting Mode: Optimized for detecting subtle sounds in natural environments.
- Focus Mode: Enhances speech clarity and reduces background distractions.
- Shooting Mode: Provides maximum impulse noise protection while maintaining awareness of commands.
- Communication Mode: Balances ambient sound amplification with clear two-way communication (requires external communication device, not included).
To switch between modes, briefly press the central button on the keypad. Each press will cycle through the available modes, indicated by an audible cue.
4.4 External Audio Input
The ear muffs are equipped with a 3.5mm audio input jack (visible in Figure 4.1) for connecting external audio devices, such as communication radios or media players. Connect a standard 3.5mm audio cable (not included) from your device to the input jack on the ear muff. The audio will be heard through the ear muffs.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the ear muffs with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure no moisture enters the electronic components.
5.2 Storage
Store the Sordin Pro-X ear muffs in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage.
5.3 Battery Replacement
Replace batteries when the low battery indicator is activated or when sound quality degrades. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in Section 3.1.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace with fresh AAA batteries if necessary.
- Poor Sound Quality/No Amplification: Check battery level. Ensure ear cups form a proper seal around your ears.
- Intermittent Sound: Verify battery connections. Ensure no external interference.
- Discomfort: Adjust the headband for a better fit. Ensure gel pads are properly seated.
