1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using the appliance and retain them for future reference. Incorrect operation can lead to damage to the appliance and injury to the user.

  • Always ensure the appliance is unplugged before cleaning, assembling, or disassembling parts.
  • Do not immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Keep hands and utensils out of the bean hopper and grinding chamber during operation to prevent injury.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • Use the appliance only for its intended purpose: grinding whole coffee beans.
  • Ensure the collection container is correctly in place before operating the grinder.

2. Product Overview

The CASO Barista Crema coffee grinder is designed for precise and aroma-friendly grinding of coffee beans, offering various grind settings for different brewing methods.

Components:

  • Bean Hopper: Transparent container for whole coffee beans (max. 190g capacity).
  • Bean Hopper Lid: Covers the bean hopper.
  • Grind Size Selector Dial: Adjusts the fineness of the grind.
  • Grinding Mechanism (Burr Grinder): Professional disc grinder for consistent results.
  • Coffee Grounds Collection Container: Removable container for ground coffee (max. 140g capacity).
  • Power Button: Initiates the grinding process.
  • Cleaning Brush: For maintaining the grinding mechanism.
  • Coffee Scoop: For measuring coffee beans.

3. Setup and Initial Use

3.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials.
  2. Wipe the exterior of the grinder with a damp cloth.
  3. Wash the bean hopper lid, bean hopper, and coffee grounds collection container with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  4. Ensure all parts are dry before assembly.

3.2 Assembly

  1. Place the bean hopper onto the motor unit, ensuring it is securely seated and locked into position if applicable.
  2. Place the bean hopper lid on top of the bean hopper.
  3. Insert the coffee grounds collection container into its designated slot at the front of the grinder.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Bean Hopper

  1. Remove the bean hopper lid.
  2. Pour whole coffee beans into the bean hopper. Do not overfill; the maximum capacity is 190g.
  3. Replace the bean hopper lid securely.

4.2 Adjusting Grind Size

The grinder offers multiple settings from fine to coarse. Rotate the grind size selector dial to choose your desired fineness.

  • Fine: Suitable for Espresso.
  • Medium: Ideal for Drip Coffee.
  • Coarse: Recommended for French Press and Percolator.

4.3 Grinding Coffee

  1. Ensure the coffee grounds collection container is correctly inserted.
  2. Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet.
  3. Press the power button to start grinding. The grinder will operate until the desired amount is ground or the hopper is empty.
  4. Once grinding is complete, unplug the appliance.
  5. Carefully remove the collection container and use the freshly ground coffee.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee grinder.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  1. Always unplug the grinder before cleaning.
  2. Remove the bean hopper lid and any remaining whole beans.
  3. Remove the coffee grounds collection container and empty it. Wash it with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry.
  4. Use the provided cleaning brush to remove any residual coffee grounds from the grinding chamber and around the burrs.
  5. Wipe the exterior of the grinder with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

5.2 Deep Cleaning (Burr Removal)

For thorough cleaning, the upper burr can be removed.

  1. Ensure the grinder is unplugged.
  2. Remove the bean hopper and its lid.
  3. Locate the upper burr. Depending on the model, it may twist out or lift out after releasing a latch. Refer to the markings on the burr for removal direction.
  4. Use the cleaning brush to thoroughly clean both the upper and lower burrs, removing all coffee residue.
  5. Reinsert the upper burr, ensuring it clicks or locks into place securely.
  6. Reassemble the bean hopper and lid.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your grinder, please consult the table below before contacting customer service.
