Important Safety Information:
- Keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from the shredder's paper entry.
- Keep children and pets away from the shredder.
- Unplug the shredder when not in use or before cleaning.
- Do not use aerosol products near the shredder.

3. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your shredder:
- Remove the shredder from its packaging.
- Place the shredder on a flat, stable surface. Ensure adequate space around the unit for ventilation and waste bin access.
- Insert the 8-gallon pull-out waste bin securely into the shredder cabinet.
- Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions
The Fellowes Microshred 94MC is designed for micro-cut shredding of paper, staples, paper clips, credit cards, and CDs/DVDs.
Control Panel:

- Power Button: Turns the shredder on or off. A blue light indicates the shredder is ready.
- Forward Button (▲): Manually feeds paper forward.
- Reverse Button (▼): Manually reverses the shredding mechanism to clear jams.
- Thermal Overload Indicator: Illuminates if the shredder overheats. Allow it to cool down before resuming operation.
- Bin Full Indicator: Illuminates when the waste bin needs emptying.
Shredding Paper:
- Ensure the shredder is powered on (blue light illuminated).
- Insert up to 20 sheets of paper (80gsm) straight into the paper entry slot. The shredder will automatically begin shredding.
- The shredder will stop automatically once the paper has passed through.

Shredding Credit Cards and CDs/DVDs:
The shredder has a separate slot for media destruction.
- Insert one credit card or CD/DVD at a time into the dedicated media entry slot.
- The shredder will automatically shred the item.
Auto Reverse Technology:
The 94MC features auto reverse technology that automatically stops and reverses paper jams, reducing user intervention and frustration.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your shredder.
Emptying the Waste Bin:
The 8-gallon pull-out waste bin should be emptied regularly, especially when the Bin Full indicator illuminates.
- Ensure the shredder is turned off and unplugged.
- Grasp the handle of the waste bin and pull it out from the front of the shredder.
- Dispose of the shredded material.
- Slide the empty waste bin back into the shredder until it clicks securely into place.

Oiling the Shredder:
To maintain peak performance, oil your shredder regularly, especially after emptying the waste bin or after extended use. Use only vegetable-based shredder oil (Fellowes brand recommended).
- Apply a thin line of shredder oil across the paper entry slot.
- Press and hold the Forward (▲) button for 2-3 seconds to distribute the oil.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your shredder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Shredder does not turn on:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
- Check if the waste bin is fully inserted.
- Verify the power button is pressed and the blue indicator light is on.
- Paper jam:
- The shredder's auto-reverse feature should clear most jams. If not, press and hold the Reverse (▼) button to clear the paper.
- Reduce the number of sheets being fed.
- Oil the shredder blades.
- Shredder stops during operation (Thermal Overload):
- The thermal overload indicator will illuminate. Unplug the shredder and allow it to cool down for approximately 20-30 minutes before resuming use.
- Shredded material is not micro-cut:
- Ensure you are using the correct paper entry slot for the desired shred type. The 94MC is a micro-cut shredder, producing 5/32" x 1/2" particles.
