Components:

Setup

Connecting to the ESC:

  1. Ensure your Super Vortex Gen2 ESC is powered off and disconnected from the battery.
  2. Connect one end of the provided connection cable to the designated port on the SANWA Program Box.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to the programming port on your Super Vortex Gen2 ESC. Refer to your ESC manual for the exact location of this port.
  4. Connect the ESC to a power source (battery). The Program Box will power on automatically.

Inserting a MicroSD Card:

  1. Locate the MicroSD card slot on the Program Box.
  2. Gently insert a MicroSD card (not included) into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is oriented correctly.
  3. To remove, gently push the card in until it clicks, then release, and it will eject.

Operating Instructions

Navigating Menus:

  • Use the Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons to scroll through menu options or adjust values.
  • Press the ENTER button to select a menu item or confirm a value.
  • Press the BACK button to return to the previous menu or cancel an action.

Programming ESC Parameters:

  1. With the Program Box connected and powered on, the main menu will appear.
  2. Navigate to the 'Program' or 'Settings' menu using the Up/Down buttons and press ENTER.
  3. Select the specific parameter you wish to adjust (e.g., 'Timing', 'Punch', 'Brake').
  4. Use the Up/Down buttons to change the value of the selected parameter.
  5. Press ENTER to confirm the new value. The setting will be applied to the ESC.
  6. Repeat for all desired parameters.
  7. Press BACK repeatedly to return to the main menu.

Firmware Update:

To update the ESC firmware, you will typically need to download the latest firmware file from the SANWA website and save it to a MicroSD card. Then:

  1. Insert the MicroSD card containing the firmware file into the Program Box.
  2. Navigate to the 'Firmware Update' or 'Tools' menu on the Program Box.
  3. Select the firmware file from the MicroSD card.
  4. Confirm the update process. Do not disconnect the Program Box or power off the ESC during the update.
  5. Once complete, the Program Box will indicate a successful update.

Saving/Loading Profiles (with MicroSD card):

  1. Ensure a MicroSD card is inserted.
  2. Navigate to the 'Save Profile' or 'Load Profile' option in the menu.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to save the current ESC settings to a file on the MicroSD card or load a previously saved profile.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the Program Box. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the Program Box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Care: Avoid bending or crimping the connection cable excessively to prevent internal damage.
