1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the Intex 28636GS Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter Pump. 4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all contents from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
4.2 Assembly
- Place the filter pump unit on a firm, level surface near the pool. Ensure it is at least 2 meters (6.5 feet) away from the pool edge.
- Connect the inlet hose from the pool's lower connection to the pump's inlet port (marked with an arrow pointing towards the pump). Secure with hose clamps.
- Connect the outlet hose from the pump's outlet port (marked with an arrow pointing away from the pump) to the pool's upper connection (Hydro Aeration Technology inlet fitting). Secure with hose clamps.
- Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Insert the filter cartridge into the filter housing. Ensure it is seated correctly.
- Close and secure the filter housing lid.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting the Pump
- Ensure the pool is filled to the appropriate level and all hoses are securely connected.
- Open the air release valve on top of the filter housing. Water will begin to fill the filter chamber.
- Once a steady stream of water flows from the air release valve, close the valve.
- Plug the pump into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Turn the power switch to the 'ON' position. The pump will begin to operate.
5.2 Timer Settings
The pump features a built-in timer with preset cycles from 2 to 12 hours for automatic operation. Refer to the markings on the pump's control panel to set the desired operating duration. This allows for convenient, automated filtration.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Filter Cartridge Cleaning and Replacement
The filter cartridge should be cleaned regularly and replaced every 2 weeks, or more frequently depending on pool usage and water condition.
- Disconnect the pump from the electrical outlet.
- Close the plunger valves on the pool's inlet and outlet connections to prevent water flow.
- Unscrew the filter housing lid and remove the filter cartridge.
- Rinse the cartridge thoroughly with a garden hose to remove debris. If the cartridge remains dirty or damaged, replace it with a new Intex Type A filter cartridge.
- Reinsert the clean or new cartridge, secure the lid, and reopen the plunger valves before restarting the pump.
6.2 Winterization and Storage
Before storing the pump for the off-season, ensure it is thoroughly cleaned and dried. Store in a dry, frost-free location.
