2. Safety Information

4. Product Overview

5. Setup
5.1 Powering the Amplifier
The MINI-STB-SUPERG can be powered by 6 x AA batteries or an optional DC power supply (not included).
5.1.1 Battery Installation
- Ensure the amplifier is turned off.
- Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 6 x AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5.1.2 DC Power Supply (Optional)
If using a DC power supply, connect it to the DC Input jack on the rear panel. Ensure the power supply meets the specified voltage and current requirements (refer to specifications section).
5.2 Connecting Your Guitar
Connect your guitar to the Input jack (1) on the front panel using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
5.3 Bluetooth Pairing
To stream audio wirelessly to your amplifier:
- Turn on the amplifier.
- Press and hold the Bluetooth Button (2) until the Bluetooth indicator light begins to flash. This indicates pairing mode.
- On your audio device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "Laney MINI-STB-SUPERG" from the list.
- Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator light will stop flashing and remain solid. You can now play audio through the amplifier.
5.4 LSI (Laney Smartphone Insert) Connection
The LSI feature allows you to connect your smartphone and use guitar tone-generating apps like Tonebridge.
- Connect one end of the supplied LSI cable to the LSI jack (9) on the amplifier.
- Connect the other end of the LSI cable to the headphone/headset jack of your smartphone.
- Launch your preferred guitar app (e.g., Tonebridge) on your smartphone.
- Adjust settings within the app and on the amplifier's Volume control (10) for desired output.
Note: When using LSI, the amplifier's internal tone controls (Gain, Level, Tone, Delay) may be bypassed or affected by the app's processing.
6. Operating the Amplifier
6.1 Basic Guitar Operation
- Ensure your guitar is connected and the amplifier is powered on.
- Set the Volume control (10) to a low level initially.
- Press the Drive Button (3) to select either the Clean (button out) or Drive (button in) channel.
- For the Clean channel, adjust the Volume (10) for overall loudness.
- For the Drive channel, adjust Gain (4) for the amount of distortion/overdrive, and Level (5) for the channel's output volume. Then use Volume (10) for overall loudness.
- Use the Tone control (6) to shape the sound.
- Apply Delay (7) as desired for an echo effect.
6.2 Using Aux In
Connect an external audio source (e.g., MP3 player) to the Aux In jack (8) using a 3.5mm stereo cable. The audio will play through the amplifier, allowing you to play along with backing tracks. Adjust the volume from your external device and the amplifier's Volume control (10).
6.3 Using Headphones
For silent practice, connect standard 3.5mm stereo headphones to the Headphone Jack (12). This will mute the internal speaker. Adjust the Volume control (10) for headphone loudness.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the amplifier with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish and internal components.
7.2 Battery Replacement
When the sound quality degrades or the power LED dims, it's time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1.1. Always replace all 6 AA batteries at the same time with new ones.
7.3 Storage
If storing the amplifier for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
