1. Important Safety Information

Read all instructions carefully before assembling and using the ABC Design Genua baby stroller. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury or death to your child.

• Never leave your child unattended in the stroller.
• Always use the 5-point harness system to secure your child.
• Ensure all locking devices are engaged before placing a child in the stroller.
• Do not exceed the maximum recommended weight of 15 kg (33 lbs).
• Do not place more than 2 kg (4.4 lbs) in the storage basket.
• Do not hang bags or other items on the handle, as this can cause the stroller to become unstable.
• Keep children away from the stroller during folding and unfolding to prevent injury.
• Regularly inspect the stroller for loose parts, damaged components, or worn fabric. Discontinue use if any damage is found.
• This stroller is designed for one child only.

3. Setup and Assembly

3.1 Unfolding the Stroller

1. Place the folded stroller on a flat surface.
2. Locate the folding latch, usually on the side of the frame. Release the latch.
3. Lift the handlebar upwards until the frame fully extends and locks into place. You should hear an audible "click" indicating that the frame is securely locked.
4. Ensure all locking mechanisms are engaged before use.

3.2 Attaching the Canopy

The canopy typically attaches to designated points on the stroller frame near the handlebar. Secure the canopy clips or snaps firmly to the frame until they are locked in place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Securing Your Child (5-Point Harness)

1. Place your child in the seat.
2. Bring the shoulder straps over your child's shoulders and the waist straps around their waist.
3. Insert the two buckle prongs (shoulder and waist straps) into the central buckle until they click securely.
4. Adjust the straps to ensure a snug fit without being too tight. The harness should be adjusted so that you can fit one finger between the strap and your child's body.
5. To release, press the button on the central buckle.

4.2 Adjusting the Canopy

The canopy can be extended or retracted by pushing or pulling it along its frame. Adjust it to provide optimal shade and protection for your child.

4.3 Engaging and Releasing Brakes

The ABC Design Genua stroller is equipped with a foot-operated brake system, typically located on the rear wheels. To engage the brakes, press down firmly on the brake lever(s) until the stroller is stationary. To release, lift the lever(s) upwards. Always engage the brakes when the stroller is parked.

4.4 Folding the Stroller

1. Ensure your child is removed from the stroller.
2. Engage the brakes.
3. Retract the canopy.
4. Locate the folding mechanisms (often levers or buttons on the handlebar or frame). Activate these mechanisms simultaneously.
5. Push the handlebar downwards and forwards, allowing the stroller frame to collapse.
6. Secure the folding latch to keep the stroller in its compact, folded position.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

• Fabric Parts: Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach. Allow to air dry completely.
• Frame: Wipe the aluminum frame with a soft, damp cloth. Dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
• Wheels: Clean wheels regularly to remove dirt and debris.

5.2 Lubrication

Periodically apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving parts such as wheel axles and folding mechanisms to ensure smooth operation. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract dirt.

5.3 Storage

Store the stroller in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure it is clean and dry before storing to prevent mold or mildew.

6. Troubleshooting

• Stroller not unfolding/folding smoothly: Check for any obstructions in the folding mechanism. Ensure all latches are released before unfolding and engaged after folding. Lubricate moving parts if necessary.
• Wheels squeaking: Clean the wheels and axles to remove dirt. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the axles.
• Harness not securing: Ensure the buckle prongs are fully inserted into the central buckle. Adjust straps for a snug fit.
