3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your diesel heater. It is recommended that installation be performed by individuals with mechanical and electrical knowledge. Refer to the included installation kit for specific hardware.
3.1 General Installation Guidelines
- Mounting: Securely attach the main heater unit using the provided mounting plate. Ensure adequate clearance around the unit for air circulation and maintenance.
- Fuel System: Connect the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel lines to the fuel tank and the heater. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks. If using the auxiliary fuel tank, position it appropriately. If tapping into an existing vehicle fuel tank, use the provided oil extractor/standpipe.
- Exhaust System: Install the stainless steel exhaust pipe and muffler. Ensure the exhaust is routed safely away from flammable materials and exits the vehicle/enclosure to prevent carbon monoxide buildup. Warning: Exhaust temperatures can be very high; ensure proper insulation and clearance to avoid damage or fire.
- Air Ducts: Connect the hot air outlet pipe and air inlet pipe. Ensure these are securely fastened and routed to provide effective heat distribution and proper air intake.
- Electrical Connections: Connect the wiring harness to the heater, control panel, and a suitable 12V or 24V power source. Verify correct polarity and secure all connections.
3.2 Priming the Fuel System
Before the first use or after running out of fuel, the fuel system must be primed to ensure proper fuel delivery to the heater. This typically involves:
- Filling the fuel tank.
- Pressing and holding the "OK" button and the "down arrow" button on the LCD control panel simultaneously to initiate the fuel priming sequence. This will activate the fuel pump to draw diesel through the lines until they are full.
- Repeat if necessary until fuel flows consistently.
4. Operating Instructions
Your maXpeedingrods diesel heater offers three convenient methods for control:

4.1 LCD Control Panel
The high-resolution LCD panel allows direct control over the heater's functions. Use the buttons to:
- Turn the heater ON/OFF.
- Adjust the target temperature.
- Select operating modes.
- Monitor current status and error codes.
4.2 Remote Control
The included remote control allows you to operate the heater from a distance (up to 50 meters), providing convenience, especially in cold conditions.
- Press the ON/OFF button to start or stop the heater.
- Use the temperature adjustment buttons to set your desired heat level.
4.3 Smartphone App Control
For advanced control and monitoring, download the dedicated smartphone application. The app connects via Bluetooth and allows you to:

4.4 Automatic Altitude Adjustment

- Fuel Filter: Periodically inspect and replace the fuel filter to prevent blockages and ensure clean fuel delivery.
- Air Filter: Check and clean the air filter regularly to maintain proper airflow and combustion efficiency.
- Exhaust System: Inspect the exhaust pipe and muffler for any damage, blockages, or leaks. Ensure it remains securely fastened and clear of obstructions.
- Electrical Connections: Verify that all electrical connections are secure and free from corrosion.
- General Cleaning: Keep the exterior of the heater clean and free from dust and debris.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your diesel heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Heater Fails to Start:
- Check fuel level and ensure the fuel lines are not blocked.
- Ensure the fuel system is properly primed (refer to Section 3.2).
- Verify all electrical connections are secure and receiving adequate power (12V/24V).
- Check for any error codes displayed on the LCD panel.
- Display Remains On After Shutdown:
- Some models may keep the display illuminated after the burner shuts off. If this is undesirable and there is no specific setting to turn it off, a separate switch on the power supply line may be required for complete power cut-off.
- Insufficient Heating:
- Ensure the air inlet and outlet are not obstructed.
- Check the air filter for cleanliness.
- Verify the set temperature is appropriate for the space.
- Unusual Noise or Smoke:
- Immediately shut down the heater.
- Inspect the exhaust system for leaks or blockages.
