3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation and Removal

  1. Ensure the tool is switched off.
  2. Align the battery pack (sold separately) with the battery port on the tool.
  3. Slide the battery pack into the tool until it clicks securely into place.
  4. To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery pack out.

  2. Press the guard release lever or button.
  3. Rotate the guard to the desired position to protect against sparks and debris.
  4. Release the lever/button to lock the guard in place. Ensure it is securely fastened before use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On and Off

  1. To Start: Ensure the battery is installed and the disc and guard are correctly fitted. Grip the tool firmly with both hands. Press and hold the dead man switch. The soft start feature will ensure a gradual increase in speed.
  2. To Stop: Release the dead man switch. The electric brake will quickly stop the disc rotation.

4.2 Grinding and Cutting Techniques

  • Always allow the disc to reach full speed before contacting the workpiece.
  • Apply light, consistent pressure. Do not force the tool, as this can lead to kickback or damage the disc and motor.
  • For grinding, hold the tool at an angle of approximately 15-30 degrees to the workpiece.
  • For cutting, hold the tool perpendicular to the workpiece, ensuring a straight cut.
  • Be aware of sparks and debris direction, and position yourself and the guard accordingly.

4.3 HD SYNC Technology

When using a compatible AEG PRO18V HD SYNC battery, the tool will automatically utilize the HD SYNC technology to deliver an additional 20% power. This is particularly beneficial for demanding applications, providing enhanced performance without compromising battery life.

5.1 Cleaning the Removable Rear Filter
